Dave_Og
Would you have them back? Seems there is not not much prospect of their ground meeting requirements if they win the play off final
Handsy
Would be more income for the club if they did but would the pitch hold up doesn't seem to be a problem at huddersfield
longtimeblue
I'd rather they didn't play at BP but I'd rather they did than jeopardise the future of RL in Oldham. A few years ago I'd have been right against it but seeing how far they've fallen is sad. If it's their the best option for them to progress, for the good of the town, it's a no-brainer for me. Lukers1
I posted on another thread that a well respected ex councillor told me we approached them to buy the club.

Simpo
Only if we used a plastic pitch!
philliggi
Both ours and huddersfields pitch was built to withstand the strains both sports put on the surface so i see no issue really. The only difference it would really make to us is seeing the crappy greened out rugby lines when we play. However i very much doubt rugby would afford the rent and therefore i recon having the same owner would be the only way it would ever happen
al_bro
When does the pitch get sorted out and re-seeded if RL is played on it. The pitch was quite bare in places at the end of last season. Huddesfield and Wigan have more money than we have to sort these matters out during the season.
ghostofcecere
I really don't want the Roughyeds back, despite what's been said I don't think the pitch would be anything like it is with the extra games being played on it. I do however sympathise with their cause, OMBC have never really done Latics any favours, but also they have never treated us as disgracefully as they have the Roughyeds. opinions4u
If it was rugby union, no chance. Rugby league not a problem.
rvlatic
Nah...could never get into eggchasing and i reckon it would wreck the pitch.
leeslover
If it can be done with zero damage to the pitch and without risking so much as a penny to the football club then yes. Otherwise no thanks.
SavageTheBeast
Still owe Corney 40k from rent but if and its a big if they get promoted they will not be allowed to stay at whitebank. Rumour is they are planning on a move to Curzon Ashton
ShireBlue
I'd have them back for most of the reasons stated above. Plus rugby league doesn't do as much damage as a lot of people think. However, I could see the move to Curzon working out as well.
brierleys555
can't they ground share with Oldham RU
Guest Stanley30
Definitely get them back! We're a rugby league town and they need our help! We've treated them bad before so let's make it right!
oafc-latics
Any money we get from them could go towards the stand, and we'd get more use of the boxes/bar/catering when it's built.
Brian Larrad
I spoke to CH on Sunday after the game, and he assured me that there was no prospect of going back to BP as there are no revenue streams, we'd lose all our income from what we get at the Whitbank. If we do end up there, I'd be surprised, but as the Whitebank isn't up to standard, I'm not sure where we'd end up.
UpTheLatics
I would definitely take them.
fryatt
The yed, (as said) still are in arrears from the last time, they were here. I would not touch hamilton with a pole....... and most yed fans have issues with him. No thanks.....
Simpo
Either way, hope they win the final and find a good home for Championship 1 rugby league next season. Roughyeds vs Bradford in a league fixture, it's been a long time coming!
yarddogs
We should support all teams representing the town end off,we should welcome them back if they haven't got a home.
joncurtis199
I wouldn't mind, as long as the pitch is alright. It seems to be reseeded too much for latics to get away with it being used during summer.
Alec1954
I guess that they would need to illuminate the pitch at night to encourage summer growth all year. Can that be afforded on 500 crowds? And there are rumoured debts still owed.
Lukers1
I remember under Mike Ford in the early 2000 they were getting gates of 2500, now they get 450..
