deyres42
The players he has brought in were probably on a list made by LJ (no way of knowing that) and DH has also scouted them. I don't think he has the contacts in the game that other managers who have applied have. Baseless nonsense.
deyres42
Holden won't help his case if defeated by the likes of Crawley, who have conceded 66 goals this season. The likes of Crawley? Delusions of grandeur.
the_mighty_bosh
Baseless nonsense. Agreed, Sadler and Gerrard both were ex-teammates of Holden. Very much his contacts. The likes of Crawley? Delusions of grandeur. Hmm...not that we're massive or anything, but Crawley are punching well above their weight by being at this level. josh_latics
Down at the bottom of he league, conceded 66 goals, have you resigned us to their level already? No, but you don't have an automatic right to beat teams who are 'smaller' and below you in the table. Didn't see anything from Bristol fans thinking they had a divine right to beat little Oldham. We are the likes of Crawley! You may be right, but that comparison is hardly likely to increase season tickets sales, if thats what SC hopes is the best we can achieve. NewBlue
That comparison is hardly likely to increase season tickets sales, if thats what SC hopes. A season that had lots of fans interested for the first time in a while is now one that we can't wait to end. Let's not pretend we were the likes of Crawley. We were genuinely challenging until our manager went after pastures new and the board subsequently gave up. BP is going to be awfully empty with the extra 3000 seats... opinions4u
On the bright side, Barnsley have three points from the last fifteen available. Not that I care. Honest.
oafc1955
Probably thinking of their Summer holidays, but looking at the table I reckon we still need another win to be sure of safety. Looking at the fixture list it is not beyond the realms of possibility to suggest that we may not win another game! Holden is not the man for me, even with our injury situation 10 points from a possible 30 equates to a 46 point season and relegation. And for all those blaming the pitch for our defeat at Bradford, Preston just went there and won 3 nil.

The league is so tight that we had a chance along with 10 to 12 other sides of a play off spot LJ leaving 5 weeks ago did not end our challenge. Consistency all season or lack of have been are problem and still is. Last 2 results show that. We had a chance but were never genuine challengers like a Sheff Utd. If Holden cannot motivate the players from one game to the next does this suggest he's just one of the boys, a coach rather than a manager? No, it just puts him the same bracket as lots of managers whose results can tail off when there is very little for the team to play for. There's no excuse for players slacking off, it's a mentality no manager should allow, such players have no place in a club, fans pay good money to expect at least a will to win in all games. Consistency all season or lack of have been are problem and still is. Last 2 results show that. We had a chance but were never genuine challengers like a Sheff Utd. Yes. Each team has experienced slumps during the season. Chesterfield at one point looked out of it, Fleetwood have been below us for long periods of the season, Rochdale were 16th or something crazy like that about a month ago. They are the 3 sides in prime spots now. Teams that we would have put ourselves in with before Johnson left and have been above regularly. Teams that we've got a P5 W4 D1 record against. By saying we never were challengers is to say Chesterfield, Rochdale and Fleetwood were never challenging for the play offs. Disregarding the Orient result, when there were already rumours Johnson was leaving, we had lost to Colchester while being in 5th or 6th position. Chesterfield have now won 4 on the spin. 12 in 12. We have got 4 in 12. They are 10 points above us. 7 days ago we were 1 point behind them (I think). It is utterly ludicrous to say we were never genuine challengers, even when we knew we couldn't with Holden we were still legitimately in the running. Who knows what would have happened if Johnson to Barnsley hadn't happened, but I'm convinced we'd be much closer to 6th because while he was here we were always genuine challengers. In other words some managers and players couldn't care less about slacking before fans who pay their wages? If so I would kick them out of their complacent jobs. Ritchierich
It doesn't really matter what we think, it's what the team and manager thinks and judging by that utter :censored:e today they believe it is time for their summer holidays This spineless squad never had a hope in hell of making the playoffs and I really don't care that much if any of them are here next season. singe
Matt Chambers was scathing about some of the players today, Matt normally is diplomatic only seen it once before, but I am not surprised.
