Dave_Og
Stirling was a cracking night out when we did a Sunday league tour there years ago. Lokomotiv Lewisham against the Stirling Albion fanzine on their old ground, Annfield - plastic pitch. Second half was a long one as had been up all night on the not so sleeper train. Played against the Falkirk fanzine on the bank holiday Monday. Simon Stainrod was their manager at the time and pitched in for a kickabout. Happy days. peanuts
high season for the tourists up there so bound to be expensive as stirling is the gateway to the north and a jumping of point for the highlands maybe look at Perth or Dunblane those thinking of driving up its a monster drive minimum four hours do it regular on the way to east coast
pdw76
I think there is a Holiday Inn Express right next to Forthbank stadium. It's a 55min drive from Edinburgh, so that's another option if you want to make a weekend of it. Edited May 17, 2015 by pdw76
Uppermill Latics
I would recommend giving the university a try as they have rooms and flats available for singles/groups and you can self-cater too. http://www.stir.ac.uk/business/conferences-and-events/accommodation/

another fan
There are other on here that are more well versed in using trainline than I am but I have found availability ( I think ) for a train leaving Mills Hill on Friday 24th July 1118hrs and arriving at Stirling 1658hrs cost £21.65 Return leaving Sat at 0735 costing £8.90 Times a bit tight and with an adult disabled card but I assume would apply to other cards Please correct me if I am wrong Edited May 17, 2015 by another fan

LaticsPete
There;s a good little book called "Got to do the 42" by Martin McNellis. A visit to each of the 42 Scottish league grounds in a season (2012/3). As well as narrative about the match etc he also writes about the interaction of fans and , naturally, the ground itself. Here's bit from his visit to Stirling Albion (for the game v Queens Park, Jan 5 2013). "Stirling Albion had been on the look out for a new ground location in the late 1980s, having decided to leave Annfield, which had been home from 1945. Annfield had been the first ground in Scotland to have an artificial surface. They eventually made the move to the 3,800 capacity Forthbank Stadium, in time for the start of the 1993/4 season. Coincidentally, it was one of the first stadiums to comply with the Taylor Report in Scotland. it is quite a neat set up with the Main (west) stand holding both sets of fans...Opposite is the similar looking East Stand which does not tend to get used that often.Behind both goals there is a small section of terracing which again are used for bigger games. The facilities are modern, admission prices are fair and provide good value, as does the match programme" Edited May 22, 2015 by LaticsPete
longtimeblue
European away... After umming and ahhing, ended up getting a cheap hotel and booked the Friday off for the big game. Best Man duties on the Sunday so back Saturday morning. Who's going off here? How many do you reckon we'll take? A couple of hundred would be decent... welshgaz
50 I'd imagine. Surely there's not 200 lunatics prepared to make the trip. I'm going up mind.

Probably a bit OTT in hindsight but I reckon the novelty factor will get us onto treble figures.
yarddog73
I'd say there was about 50 at Barrow last season so would expect similar numbers for this game maybe a handful more.
