BP1960
Charlie Roberts had been the captain of the Manchester United team that won the First Division championship in 1907-1908 and 1910-1911. Although he was aged 30 years old, Oldham Athletic paid a fee of £1,750 for Roberts in 1913.

Stagger Lee
We actually sold him for 500,000 but the evil empire of Brass took 400,000 for themselves this is the only possible reason it was made an 'undisclosed' fee. Move on.... Why has it nothing to do with the fans?????????????????????? So it would be ok if the transfer received was filtered out of the club whilst we have threadbare squad? If we don't know it will lead to speculation rightly or wrongly especially the way the club is being run.

Even if people know the transfer fee they'll claim it's been filtered out of the squad unless every single wage is made public

Wozzer
With the backing of greedy shareholders Presumably greedy shareholders are interested in making money. Decisions on approval of executive pay would therefore be based on the success of the executives in question. If the greedy shareholders are happy, then the executives deserve larger rewards. Otherwise they are disincentivised to make their shareholders happy. *stares at Labour Party membership card and thinks "did I really just type that"*
whittles left foot
I have read loads of posts on here about not stating company details and transfer fees details not being released and some people have replied saying financial details have to be revealed for limited companies etc. Well Tesco have sold a company this morning and low and behold this is their statement. Tesco has announced it is to sell its Giraffe restaurant chain to the owner of Harry Ramsden's restaurants, Boparan, for an undisclosed sum. Tesco has announced it is to sell its Giraffe restaurant chain to the owner of Harry Ramsden's restaurants, Boparan, for an undisclosed sum. It is undisclosed because it has been struggling and sold for a very modest sum, most likely below value. A bit like Latics' situation really. lalalajpkalala
You can find details on Tesco's corporate website. Pretty transparent.
whittles left foot
How is 'undisclosed' pretty transparent? The fact it has sold below book value is not really relevant- but the quote 'it is struggling and sold for a very modest sum' could be our club. LaticsPete
The next step is for clubs to sign players and not disclose their names
