Dave_Og Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 My first game of the season. On the basis that it is reasonable to assume that the standard will be lower than the utterly abysmal dross currently being served up by Preston and Wigan I'm almost to regret buying a ticket in advance. Quote
hollandspies Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Whichever way you hang, take a book or a Kindle. Quote
dannyboy55555 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Mine too. Can't see many being there Quote
Dave_Og Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 None of the people that I generally go with are going. A few with very good extenuating circumstances but even so.. Quote
yarddog73 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I wouldn't go if I could get a free day off work with a free coach and match ticket chucked in and it was one of the stand out aways for me when the fixtures were published, saying that we will probably go there and win a nine goal thriller in the 5th minute of stoppage time now! Quote
unsworthlatic Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I'll be there...on the coach with my girlfriend and a few others I know. Going certainly in hope rather than expectation, just hope we see 100% effort and give it their all, we fall short and get beat then fine, just want to see the team we had in the first month of the season back (meaning the pressing and winning 1st and 2nd balls which we have struggled with last couple of weeks) Quote

My first mid week away game in almost a year but few just ain't bothering. Wished this had been on a Sat Quote
bigfatjoe1 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Whichever way you hang, take a book or a Kindle. i thought about the other week. Take a radio and a good book. It's a bit like going to the cricket. This coud actually prove to be a very relaxing way of spending a couple of hours, espeically if you have a stressful life. Quote
yarddog73 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Monty I will guarantee I'm no fair weather supporter I've watched us in thousands of games in over 100 different grounds but I must admit my support at the moment is being tested to the limit, I don't attend every single game anymore but never drop below attending 90 percent of our games, there are a handful who attend more but it's very few and you are certainly not one of them. As for chatting :censored: after the game, I don't comment on games I don't attend unlike a good few on here. Quote
Monty Burns Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 You can't attend 90% of the games if you aren't going to go to one of your biggest games even if somebody pays. What you going to do about the 200 mile round trip aways on a tuesday? Unless, of course, there's another reason you aren't going and you just wanted some dramatic effect? Quote
cornishblue Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I was looking forward to this fixture before the fixture machine made it a midweek game. Always try and go to to London matches and do an overnighter. A few hardy souls from Oldham and a few from the south. Be very surprised if there is more than 250. Shame as if it was a Saturday pretty sure there would have 750-1000 there for it. Quote

yarddog73 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Russell Slade team v Steve Robinson team has 0-0 wrote all over it, that's if we can keep them out for the first 20 minutes, if we can't it could get a bit messy as Charlton have actually been playing quite well without getting the results. Admire your optimism cornishblue but you seriously think around a 1,000 Latics would have gone!! We didn't take 1,000 to Bradford earlier in the season when spirits were high - and that's literally a few junctions up the M62 and a "Roses" derby. Quote

Dave_Og Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 How the heck is it cheaper to get in at Charlton (£23 pay on the gate) than at our place?! Quote
Bristolatic Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I'd have been there if it had been a Sat'di, but just can't make it on a Toosday neet. A bit pissed off about it, if truth be told, so LP will have to do the job instead. *Cue comments about how lucky I am not being able to get there* Quote
disjointed Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I would have liked to go to this one, as it stands I am currently sat round a pool in 30 degree glorious sunshine. Sorry. Quote
rosa Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I think we're gonna get a result. I'm looking forward to it. I never normally drink this early on a Tuesday. I :censored:ing love away days. Quote
