Just spoken to my son who is coming back on the coach.Said he is gutted and that he did not know where all tge extra time came from and that we deserved a point.Said Holloway missed a header in the first half .Second half we defended wellbut ball should have been cleared by sub Croft just before Maynard scored. He did not understand why Green was subbed for Croft.Thought all played well and defended well .Said about 200 Latics went.Still...two home games.Pitywe could not break tga MK jinx but we were not outclassed

Seems ironic had Croft not been on the bench we would likely have got a point.

Croff genuinely tried to take a touch in his own box in the 5th minute of added time, still can't believe he didn't put his foot through it.

Have to say we sat very deep from start to finish. Holloway was very isolated until Osei came on and their two midfielders had all the time in the world to play balls over the top of our defence. That said, they only forced Ripley into one save all night, so I couldn't really envisage them winning it.

As for the added time, the only stoppage inside the extra four minutes was the referee sauntering over to have a word with their manager, laughable really.

A truly soul-destroying football club to lose in the last minute too, the kind of club who's fans probably enjoy a Frankie and Benny's pre-match, before heading in to sit in their comfy seats.

Well put.

We could see from the off that they prefer to play the ball out....and we let them bring up to the half way line. I don't recall their keeper lumping the ball up field during the whole game.

Yet we squeezed the life out of Peterborough who do the same?

Gutted with that outcome!

Great strike from their lad though it has to be said!

I had believed that anything from tonight would be a bonus since they are on a decent run of form.

Saturday is very important especially as a lot of the lower clubs play each other-got to hope for draws all round as we beat Coventry

We came for a point and never really played with any speed or confidence to have a go at a very poor MK Dons side. In the end we paid the penalty for our lack of adventure. Holloway should have scored first half and Croft should have put his foot through the ball at the death. Gutted.

Just spoken to my son who has just got back and said Croft should have Row Z ed the ball.Gutted aboutthe result and how Holloway missed an open goal.I told him that is football and will happen time and time again especially with us.We will have to regroup and start again to get us out of this mess.Positive Shez will do it.

That Holloway chance in the first half was a biggie. About 5 yards out, keeper wrong-footed and he loops the header about 3 feet wide. Had it been on target, 100% goal.

Maynard strike was good, but should never have got to the ball if we defended as we had been doing up to then. A momentary lapse in concentration. Sort of Chesterfield in reverse, as someone said.

The cruel nature of football in two consecutive periods of stoppage time.

Sounds as though we didn't do enough in the game to feel we "deserve" anything, but a mostly solids defensive performance could have earned a point.

I think as BP1960 said, our lack of goals is still looking like it will continue to be our Achilles heal - and the thing that costs us. I'd hoped that the few goals we had scored recently might imbue the team with confidence and see a return to normal goal scoring form...perhaps the problem is deepe than that.

However, not a catastrophic result and 3 points from two away games would have been more than acceptable. Those 3 points coming off the team that we need to finish above? Very good.

Hope that Shez and the team can use the disappointment of last night to go into the Coventry game with some real passion and verve. When was he last time we took an early lead in a game?

Think that header you mention Fyldelatic was Odebayi...hit his shoulder and looped out. Holloway had a chance near the end of the half and tried to guide it into the bottom corner but it went just wide of the post.

Holloway does some excellent work around the box he needs someone up there with him though. Guess it shows where we are squad wise when they can bring Nicky Maynard on as sub and we bring Osei on.

Shez knows our limitations, we all would've been happy with a point but as has been said, Croft dithered on the edge of the box instead of just hoofing it and no idea how they even found 4 minutes, to then concede in the 6th minute is hard to take.

They all put a proper shift in, worked their socks off for each other and we deserved a point. Two massive games coming up now!!

Odebayi also had a chance which he stuffed up but the better chance was Holloway's header. Edited by TheBigDog
