Paul Edwards was a loan player in 1972, before being signed permanently the following year. I've no idea who any of the players in the lists produced in this thread are, but suspect that Edwards would have been better than any of them, having been a semi-regular in Man Utd line-ups in 1970-71. He also scored four goals in his first five games on loan at Latics, and that while playing at centre-half!

Whilst I can remember most of our early 90s players I can’t remember who if anyone was a loan so that’s why mine are all relatively recent
