  1. When interviewed on North West Tonight, he was asked if he had done the right thing because Lampard and Gerrard have gone to clubs with very good budgets. He said, "I will know if I have done the right thing in the next few weeks".
  2. L1 away to the Premier League. Do I get any money for being on TV, as I'm a struggling L1 team with no money to pay wages?
  3. It's unreserved seating so it could be anybody sitting next to you. 979 sold so that's more than half the initial allocation gone. No doubt we will be in both ends again.
  4. I used to enjoy reading his reports. As he said he got banned from the club on many occasions because he upset them. I dare say he would definitely be banned at the moment, and possibly for the last couple of years.
  5. It shouldn't matter who he sold his shares to. Once they are sold he no longer has an interest legally. When he buys them back at the latest price, then he has an interest again.
  6. In a way, yes. It's ok for the owner to bring players from abroad for the manager/coach to assess, but it's up to the manager to give the go ahead to sign them. If he doesn't want them, for whatever reason, then they don't get signed. Players the manager wants need to be ok'd by the owner ensuring the club can afford them. The manager should be the person speaking to the player, trying to convince him to join the club. Discussions on wages should probably be between the sporting director/advisor and the players agent.
  7. No, but this season is only just over half way through. PS still has a chance of the play offs. If we don't make it he will definitely be going for it next season. All managers want to succeed, but he has a reputation to keep. He will no doubt pack it in if he fails, because he is just not used to failing. I am assuming here that he is our new manager as it now seems that it is the only logical reason for no-one else to have been appointed yet.
  8. Sunderland finished up buying Will Grigg from Wigwam for £4m. Not much difference between them is there, unless they wanted both.
  9. We got a fee and a 40% sell on clause. Not bad if he turns out ok.
  10. Pete Wild's interview works for me. When asked about in coming transfers he says they are trying to get a couple over the line, or he owner is. Whether they will or not he doesn't know. He says nothing about out going transfers.
  11. If you are going to play one up front they have to be constantly running like Maine, pulling defenders around and making spaces for the midfield players to move into. Vera just stands around waiting for the ball, and O'Grady isn't much better. They both need a second forward with them.
  12. He may already have spoken to them if he is taking the job. Or, he may know of a better player who might become available to him.
  13. Scholes will only take the job on his own terms. He will want his players in, and he will want total control over team selection. It's the only way he could be judged on his own merits or lack of them. He won't want to lose a match because the owner decided who should play and who shouldn't. I think we could safely say that if Scholes is the manager and we lose a game, it won't be because the owner has interfered in any way.
  14. What do you suggest we do about it? The only thing that could change it is someone else coming in to buy him out, and I don't see that happening. If we protest as much as Newcastle fans or Blackpool fans have,he may just think 'sod this I've had enough' and walk away like Moore did, leaving us with £200k a month to find, going into admin. and being relegated.
  15. Seems a bit odd. They let him sign players in the window and they are still in the playoffs.
  16. The stream I watched showed that Clarke was sent off for a second yellow.
  17. ESPN are reporting that Scholes is in negotiations, but they are not yet completed. Is he waiting for AL to come back from Dubai with the required new investment? ESPN also report that he will have to end his association with Salford, only if the teams are in the same division next season. ,
  18. Scholes wouldn't want the job unless he could be successful. He wouldn't want to be known to have failed after all the success he had as a player. He would therefore demand a decent budget, and to bring in his own staff and players. This would mean AL handing over his own money to avoid having us embargoed. I just can't see it, but who knows it mat happen.
