  1. Vied yes to all 3. The last question is the difficult one, on the basis that I am sick of changing managers and I question our ability to choose anyone who would perform better in our circumstances would give him till Christmas to demonstrate our promotion credentials.
  2. A recurring theme in this thread is fthe loyal Latics fan who now sits there not bothered.about what is happening on the pitch. The opposition score so what. I think the Chesterfield defeat knocked the stuffing out of a lot of the remaining die ard fans probably more so than knocking down the lookers. we have lost so many loyal fans as a result of the lookers being knocked down.Friendships are formed a football club/stand is much more than bricks and mortar and part of the heart of the club was ripped out. I don't t think to be fair anyone realised at the time how much of the heart was ripped out.We are on a downward spiral financial damage limitation exercise pervades every decision,we are in controlled administration by TTA,who can blame them.Simon is not the onlyTTA left standing he is their Aministrator, make no bones about it.We are in administration.Paul and his team are doing their best in the circumstances the problems run far deeper.Basically TTA got into something that was too big for their pockets.
  3. No chance unfortunately the economic situation and the BP matchday experience is against us and once they get out of the habit of going week in week out it is doubly difficult to get them back.To be fair didn't hear the usual moans from the occasional fans, although the gutsy footballing performance gave even the most diehard pessemist little room for complaint.
  4. Great performance went and played football just ran out of steam. Well done boys onwards and upwards.
  5. That really is a funny blog by the Rochdale Secretary of their tour to Spain if you read it
  6. Could be down to the person. but ultimately the lack of customer service comes from the top executive, you find that is where the agenda comes from. Probably has no discretion and thought if I sell this I will get a bollocking
  7. Difficult one to understand. Being on the Board while it brings with it a different level of responsibility would not normally add much to the stress/workload of a Chief Executive.Could understand more leaving Chief Exec and staying on the Board in a non executive capacity. Nevertheless, good luck Alan hope the change helps you to a speedy recovery
  8. Talk of creating atmosphere is a bit rich from those that demolished the Lookers. Any vestiges of atmosphere were demolished when it was demolished.
  9. No Bank processing on Sunday night so if not in the bank now wont be in tomorrow the 28th, but you can bet the mortgage payments go out(bounce) of the Players accounts
  10. Maybe we could rent Royton Health centre for new offices, club shop(Pharmacy) and medical centre.
  11. I hope that not one penny of my taxes goes towards the cost. If it does I demand from the government a rebate to Latics.
  12. Why should Haringey or any other council use our tax payers money, because that is what it is, to fund another football team. At the end of the day taxpayers fund local councils. Central government is pulling the strings with our money. Why should my taxes be used to fund any other football club when mine is bleeding to death.
  13. There will soon be a spare ground in Brighton and we would be the home supporters and able to see the pitch
  14. If its the same as pay for prescriptions its me and about 5 others
  15. I was against the move to Failsworth, but couldn't care less where it is now. Away games are better than home games anyway.
  16. Just another example of how the councillors and executives have failed the residents of this borough over the years. Sport and leisure facilities, education, cohesion and attracting business a massive F on all counts.People stay because of family and friends beyond that there is nothing.
  17. Well done Simon and the Board lets hope we get some luck for the rest of the season and start to build a sustainable club once again
  18. I agree, the Barnsley incident sprung to my mind when I heard the news. Life is too short for such abuse. To be fair tonight the players were generally treated with respect, perhaps the boo boys have given up going. RIP Richard
  19. At a recent Business Breakfast meeting hosted by the Chron, attended by AH, the Editor explained how the Chron were trying to put a positive spin on the Oldham news. He was also upbeat how they had reported on Latics over the last 12 months. Perhaps they did put a negative spin on postponements etc, but aren't these the words of AH , he hasn't retracted them. Indeed tonight the chron have gone overboard with a very positive slant on the recent Charity Commission ruling. In my opinion this is a very small step not "clearing a major hurdle" as reported in the Chron. At least we are now getting on the front page of the Chron and as any good PR agent knows "there isn't such a thing as bad news"
  20. This just sums up the state of affairs in this country. with public bodies pushing pieces of paper from desk to desk on irrelevant no productive tasks;bureacracy gone mad. Charity Commission and Oldham Council fiddle while OAFC burns.
  21. Stupid post this is how silly rumours start. Reuben (correct spelling note) as captain, was trying to calm Dale down, who had lost it. Simple no further comment needed.
  22. In all business situations time is the key. At the moment this is the situation with Latics. If, and it is a big if, Failsworth is to be the saviour, time is burning a big hole in the pockets. As every month of delay goes by the financial black hole gets bigger and something needs to be done. I would support a meeting involving the council, not just someone in the Failsworth ward, but someone in Cabinet with real executive influence. At the end of the day many clubs have had support from their local council using public money and I know the structure is local, but public money whicever way you look at it is our money. The Oldham Council has much to answer for in the decline and almost total absence of leisure and sporting facilities in the town and they aren't getting any better at it. Latics is almost the last man standing and I imagine the Directors are punch drunk with it all. So maybe we do need to step in and generate some action. The delays, obstacles and lack of support over the last 15 years have led to this crippling situation and unfortunately we need support when the economy is on its knees. With all the job losses Oldham Council will have other priorities. What makes the situation sadder is that we have better performances on the pitch which given some outside investment/help could re-kindle things.
  23. Or another example of mismanagement. They are about as in touch with Latics fans as Capello is with the England team !
  24. Club can't have a ground in Rochdale due to FA rules whether that is right or wrong it is a fact. Fortunately the way the team are playing and the youth set up are the most positive things happening within the club at the moment. Lets hope that his encourages some hard core football investment that can put the Football Club and its infrastructure on a sound footing. The rest of the club:Ground;communication at an adult level with fans;new ground plans; funding and marketing are a joke.
