  1. Aidy Boothroyd? His football ain't too pretty but it gets results more often than not.
  2. We looked pretty disorganised today and it got more desperate as the game went on. Don't think Holden will be the man for us long-term. Poleon looked decent down the wing and he tried hard but we created very little. Some of the goals we conceded were shambolic. LJ has set the benchmark in terms of preparation, we should be looking for someone similar to that, whether they are experienced or not. We aren't going down and the new manager will have enough time to get used to the club and plan for next season. I hope we have someone in charge before the 14th March.
  3. The 100 day plan is probably the same plan he had when he applied for this job. The majority of the stuff would have already been there and just needed a bit of editing. Shame he's gone. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink for the new manager.
  4. It was fantastic how Forte drifted to the back when the cross came in for his headed goal. Great movement that created an easy finish in the end. Think we got a bit lucky as Notts County played very well for large parts of the game. That mad 5 minute spell where we dominated was the difference. Could have easily lost that if we hadn't scored then. Kean had a fantastic debut. Been a while since I've seen such a commanding performance from our keeper. Rachubka is good but he didn't produce a performance like that at all.
  5. Montano might be able to get a settlement out of it all from the club that would cost less than it going to court. Been watching too much Suits!
  6. think he's been misquoted. Sure he said 'and be a threat with our pace'
  7. They don't need to be in a room watching videos, they need to be out there putting right what they were lacking today and last week.
  8. They never learn. It happened at Stockport a few years ago, Bury and now at Rochdale. These clubs need to think about safety before profit and if it is the case the Police need to rethink their policy of charging more if the game is classed an all-ticket game. Doing that is only going to tempt clubs to try save money at the expense of safety. This kind of trouble doesn't happen at BP because the away fans have plenty of seats.
  9. Bradford are more than a hoof to Hansen. It'll be a tough game and I'm sure the lads will be prepared for it. It won't be easy though.
  10. He was fantastic yesterday. Even before his wonder goal he was having a positive impact on the game, his first touch was unbelievable and was a threat wherever he was in midfield, either on the wing or down the middle. In a fantastic team performance he still shone above the rest.

  12. As happened in Shez's first season. Playing winning football that takes you to the top of the league, attendances will rise. Prices are too high to persuade people to come to BP regulary but prices are needed to be that high if not higher because we don't get enough fans in to support our costs. Reducing prices is all well and good but it will probably result in a minimal increase in attendances and mean we earn less money.
  13. a 1 in 5 striker? We've been dreaming of such a player for years, given some of the strikers we've had in the recent past!
  14. Got them promoted and to a League Cup final though.
  15. What about the two players that dropped out? Wouldn't have to pay their appearance fees would we?
  16. Surely the FA have an interest in more clubs moving to a higher category status as this should help the English game and the National side? For clubs that are recommended to move up a category the FA could do everything they could to improve things?
  17. Dickov doesn't deserve abuse from us. People only remember the negatives and not the positives. I don't think he's a rubbish manager, there have been many worse than him. If he had been that bad he'd have been gone much sooner than he did. He won't ever be a fantastic manager but he gave everything for this club and gave us some great moments along the way.
  18. I can't see Ashley buying the club. He's bought the bit that'll make him money.
  19. I liked that away kit. Just reminds of that shot Calvin Zola managed to miss when he was on the goalline.
  20. Always good to have a player of Harkins ability in the side, no doubting he would be a good signing for us. But it needs to be more than just Harkins. Need more options and ideas so the opposition cannot target one and leave us with nothing else to break them down. If you have to rely on one player to make everything happen then the team won't go very far.
  21. Did we have many injuries when John Harbin was in charge of fitness? That's probably the toughest training the players have had at this club. Paul Murray was out for while in pre-season but not sure about anyone else?
  22. I think it would make a difference, just depends how much effort they really want to put into it. All that happens is a few messages on the website. It really needs to marketed better. The club need to make a better effort.
  23. I don't think it would. It didn't last time. It needs to attract a percentage extra in attendance for it to make as much income. We either need a fantastic season to bring the crowds back or the fans to forget about the league position and the opposition and come back and support the club regardless. There's around 2000 fans out there that are no longer going, whatever the reasons it's not helping the club and if they came back it would help the club a lot!
