  1. Artificial pitch so maybe First team will only train on it before we go to Dorking and others who don’t have a grass pitch?
  2. Looking at the statistics and recent form, this game has 2-2 written all over it… I’ve gone for a 2-0 home win at 16-1
  3. Both will be given a chance and if they do not show enough, both will be released at the end of the season I reckon…
  4. 5 yellows up to 19 games - 1 match ban 10 yellows up to 37 games - 2 match ban
  5. As well as a thank you to travelling fans, the gesture is also aimed at the football club putting something back into the local community. Leave as is I say. No doubting that Marc will have also sponsored Frank - two top blokes
  6. We are 10 points behind Barnet who are currently in third place. Barnet have lost 6 games, the same number as we have. Our problem is the number of games we have drawn at home namely 5 (FIVE) In fact our home form is pretty poor overall: W3-D5-L3. We seem to have found a way to win on the road, time to sort out the results at BP I think
  7. OAFC on Twitter - Steve Rippin on Twitter - Highlights program on TNT Sports, tomorrow 7:00 am.
  8. Feel for ‘em - now let’s go cherry pick their best players
  9. Top post The key difference between the two halves was down to the tempo of our play. i went with two mates and each of us summed up the first 45 in a single word: Pedestrian. Ponderous. Poor. The second half brought a great improvement - we pushed Lundstram and Sheron further forward and adopted a faster, more direct approach. Interesting to note that Stones was about to be subbed when he scored. The lad was running on fumes after 60 minutes but continued to work hard. Worryingly he had a large bag of ice strapped to his knee at the end of the game…hopefully just precautionary. One final comment: I had Latics to win 3-1 with Coral (18-1) but cashed out on 86 minutes as I was convinced we’d score a fourth…
  10. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2023/december/15122023-training/ Is it just me who struggles to put names to faces for some of this lot?
  11. On the face of it, it does seem a little strange that we are bringing in a twenty year old striker... We have Ward, Lundstram, Reid all out injured... We have NO right fullback good enough to play the position... Anyone who watches Latics (the original) can see that we NEED a right back and we NEED a creative midfielder. In Mellon we trust... probably
  12. We do seem more comfortable in our setup away from home. Teams tend to come at us more which allows us to counterattack. Hoping for another victory on the road.
  13. Comment from manager Dave Challinor: “That was nowhere near good enough. It's a huge worry and huge concern because we've got a big three weeks ahead of us with five games against, without being disrespectful, better sides than Aldershot, before we can bring in bodies. "Based on what I've seen tonight, we need to bring in plenty of bodies."
  14. ‘a bit shit’ is an understatement - got to hope that it doesn’t piss it down like last year. Having said that, I’ll take a similar result
  15. In the context of the game and the sheer exhilaration of the goal I kind of get it… but still need to stop it happening
  16. £5k is the prize for the winner of the next round of the FA Trophy…sorted
  17. Cheers I spoke with him earlier today and he said I should get the ticket by Thursday….
  18. Thanks @Londonboy Can you let me have his email address?
  19. A note of caution: Of the above six names. only Nuttall has been confirmed - the surprise (for me) name in there is Hogan - he was useless at right back on Saturday but is a decent centre back. Maybe (if true) it's because we have Hobson & Raglan plus Sutton to step up? Freeman will go as he is only on a short term contract.
