  1. A note of caution: Of the above six names. only Nuttall has been confirmed - the surprise (for me) name in there is Hogan - he was useless at right back on Saturday but is a decent centre back. Maybe (if true) it's because we have Hobson & Raglan plus Sutton to step up? Freeman will go as he is only on a short term contract.
  2. No tickets in the post yet ... but details on the OAFC App with a message saying that the QR Code becomes active on Event date ... happy if this works but I did pay £2 to have them posted...
  3. Nah.. haven’t played for two weeks then got a full week until a proper game … these guys need to play
  4. I bought my ticket Friday last week… still not here
  5. I drove last year and plan to drive this year if my paper ticket ever arrives in the post that is…
  6. From the ground guide: “To get to the ground it may be easier to go via train to Birmingham International Railway Station on the Euston to Birmingham New Street line. Then simply catch the X12 bus towards Solihull. That is the same bus that passes the ground from Solihull Town centre (as mentioned above). On Saturday afternoons the X12 runs every 20 minutes, from bus stop SB at the Birmingham International Station”
  7. What an excellent article - covers the Frank and family input and so much more
  8. Leon Clarke played for Kettering Town in their 3-2 defeat at St Ives Town
  9. If this game does go ahead, I expect a reaction from the players after the horror show last week. They have had a full week to recover and more importantly to work with MM to find a way to win at home. No new faces so I expect a very similar starting eleven to last week. The only real question I have is over Freeman - the rest get another go to put it right.
  10. Now I’m not having a pop @LightDN123 but take the Barnet game as an example: There was the ball to Fondop that led to the penalty, the ball through to Norwood where he found himself one on one with the keeper but slipped the ball just past the post… oh and the ball to Norwood who took it on and bagged the third …. All chances created by Sheron
  11. From game 4 onwards we have played Newport, Eastleigh, Woking, Barnet & Ebbsfleet. Two of those performances (Newport & Ebbsfleet) were abject and I would argue that the players did not look completely different in those games. Sandwiched in between we had two good away performances at Woking & Barnet plus a fairly mediocre display at home to Eastleigh. Whereas I agree that the team has shown that it can play better football under MM, it has also demonstrated that it can revert to type as well. Mellon has been in charge for eight games now and I think that we are seeing some improvements but it is still very much Work in Progress. Its often said “let’s judge him after 10 games” - so after Solihull away (or Gateshead away if we just count league games.) Fair to say that we’ll have a much better idea come New Year
  12. On paper yes - it all depends if MM can instil into the players the consistency he talks of.
  13. Yet they will… as you said, Fylde was equally as bad but we then won at Woking and Barnet. Its the nature of football.
  14. Certainly NOT the result that I expected - it sounds like we ran out of steam and ran out of ideas… in Mellon we trust I suppose…
  15. He also looks to be a slimmer and fitter version of himself...
  16. MM just needs to get a home win now…
  17. Good question. At the back maybe but I would hope Gardner and Norwood start!
  18. I’m not sure that many doubted his talent - but it’s also fair to say that the Norwood we have seen in the last two games is the Norwood we expected to see from the off. Most would agree that It has taken him a while to settle in. There are two major factors in his recent form - playing under Micky Mellon and playing alongside Mikey Fondop. And like it or not, his body language did show that he was frustrated. Contrast that to last night and his MotM interview - he is finally enjoying his football at Latics and long may it continue.
