  1. Fair enough - that's understandable. But the game was available in the UK too on Saturday, so I still shouldn't have got the message. I had no problems at all watching the Yeovil game. You expect some bedding in problems when a service is new but they're now in to their second season and still there are hundreds, if not thousands, of users experiencing problems with the service every week. it should be a stable, reliable platform by now.
  2. I got the same, despite being out of the country. That message shouldn't even have been relevant for a normal Saturday game where I was.
  3. So you process the payroll? Can you tell us if Maouche really is on £4k a week?
  4. I was told he tweaked a muscle warming up so they didn't want to risk him.
  5. I suspect part of what might have happened here is something that I've see happen a few times out in the real world,. I.e. Quite a few companies owed money by the football club (not talking HMRC here), possibly going back several years, reached a pragmatic view that the debt wasn't recoverable at that point in time and therefore stopped chasing it, but didn't actually write it off. Corney, potentially having disputed the validity of those debts anyway to cover himself, assumes that he's 'got away with them' and doesn't declare them as active debts. New owner arrives who appears to have a bit of money, and all those companies owed money start chasing the debts again. That leaves AL in a position of having to try to determine which ones are valid (probably most of them) and then pay them off. Of course, AL will have legal recourse to recover those debts from Corney and I suspect he is going down that route. But will there be anything left to recover from Corney? Possibly not. I wouldn't be surprised if any money he made from the sale has 'disappeared'. As an aside, I saw that Anthony Gee ( former Director and, previously close friend of Corney) was at the game on Tuesday sat with AL.
  6. Some press coverage for the campaign: https://www.balls.ie/football/oldham-fans-jack-byrne-394762

  8. I don't think so. The club print the cards themselves. When I lost mine towards the end of last season, I went to the ticket office and they printed me a new one whilst I waited. On this occasion, it's probably more likely due to the lad who used to do it having left and nobody else knows how to work the software/printers properly.
  9. Really enjoyed reading his blog posts in particular in recent months. RIP.
  10. McLaughlin departure confirmed. Gone to Blackpool. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2018/july/17072018-ryan-mclaughlin-blackpool/
  11. Probably correct, I was more wondering, from a practical point of view, why he'd set up a company in a different free zone 30 miles away when he already had one in another. The answer is probably the fact that the start up costs are only about 25% of the cost to set up in JLT. Makes sense if he isn't actually going to conduct any meaningful business from there.
  12. I don't know if there is any logic to the building numbering to be honest. What I do know is that, whilst these zones all focus on particular industry sectors, the rules are not rigid. I have a relative with a PR business located in one of the technology/internet zones and AL's agency business was in a zone focused on Commodities. I must admit I'm not sure why he'd have the agency office in Jumeirah Lake Towers ( which is a nice area of Dubai) but then set up JLT in Sharjah (which is pretty rough).
  13. I would definitely assume it is Lemsagam. The point of these Free zone companies in the UAE is that you can only trade within the zone itself or overseas I.e. you have no access to the local market. But they do come with the benefit of residency visas without needing a local sponsor. So it's an ideal vehicle for him to invest in a foreign football club yet retain residency for him and his family there. However, the designation FZC, as opposed to FZE, does mean there is more than one shareholder in the company. That may just be his brother of course, but I guess it's conceivable that another investor is involved.
  14. I guess that's a possibility, but Placide played in post season friendlies too and is back in training.
  15. That's Balmoral Golf Club in Belfast. Sounds lie he's still home for the summer. Obviously he hasn't taken up the contract offer from us.
  16. He's working in property development. He's bought some farm buildings near me which he's converting in to apartments and also doing some work with Garry Flitcroft's property company.
  17. http://www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/sport/16318438.former-latics-boss-targets-return-to-football/ "Wellens, who wouldn’t be drawn on the exact details of how his sacking came about due to a privacy agreement, added: “It was a shock, but you move on. "
  18. The Youth team trip is funded by a grant from Erasmus Plus https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2018/june/08062018-youth-trip-to-portugal/
  19. This sums the situation up pretty well. It sounds like Blitz and Gazal priced it up on Manhattan commercial prices ! For me, the starting point to allow you to make a decision as to whether a fans bar in that space is viable or not is to go back to the OEC 's agent, tell them you've stopped laughing now but are genuinely interested and want to know what the real rent would be. It woudn't surprise me if OEC told the agent that's what they wanted for it and the agent has put it on at that price just to get the listing from them, with the intention of persuading them that the price is unrealistic, after a few months of zero interest.
  20. Grayson left Bradford at the end of the season ... not that I think it likely he'll end up with us.
  21. MEN now saying they "understand" that Moisley has bee relieved of his duties, although the club has refused to comment.
  22. It's very unprofessional of Gerrard but, he probably thinks that he's unlikely to be back for pre-season, and therefore feels he has nothing to loose
  23. Here's a 4th possible scenario: AL decides he wants to replace Wellens at the end of the season, several months ago. He identifies his preferred candidate who is working elsewhere. AL doesn't want the club to be managerless for a significant period of time so leaves Wellens in post until his preferred candidate is available. Preferred candidate becomes available, Wellens is sacked.
  24. That's how it works for most clubs i.e. you tally up at the end of a transfer window. However, when a club is identified as a regular offender on FFP, I believe they go on to a 'constant monitoring' list where the league keeps a running tally of all ins and outs to ensure compliance. I think we need to behave for about a year to get off the list.
