  1. https://uk.flightaware.com/live/airport/EGTE Enjoy!
  2. We can't sign anyone on loan outside the transfer window either.
  3. No, he can't be registered to play until 1 January.
  4. Obviously you are correct that that is what the article says. But I can't see us having time to train on Saturday morning before taking a flight and still be at the ground well before kick off time. I assume they are taking a scheduled flight, given that Wellens said the reason they weren't flying back was that they couldn't get a return flight back on Saturday night In which case neither flight appears suitable. They wouldn't be able to train in the light before the 8.30 flight, and they wouldn't get to the ground at the time they're supposed to be there if they took the one that lands a 1.20pm I suspect the article is probably wrong and they are flying after training tomorrow.
  5. I'd heard something similar- that he is still officially on loan with us until Jan because he can't return or go anywhere else outside the window. But an agreement was reached for him to go back on the basis that he wasn't going to be first choice here so Wolves felt it was better for him to be training with them rather than us. I think that if one of our keepers was injured we could get him back and play him until 1 January if we wanted.
  6. I sat in the stand behind the Latics bench at Doncaster. Queensy was sat in front of me. He didnt look too happy about being left out of the squad. Sat there playing games on his phone and barely glanced up at the football all first half. Then he left at half time. His interview in the program a few weeks ago suggested he wasn't too happy about being here. Quite negative about English football and how he wasn't particularly suited to it.
  7. http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/oldham-athletic-travel-style-saturdays-954204 We are '"travelling in style" apparently. I'm not sure that getting a scheduled flight to Exeter, getting a coach on to Plymouth and then getting the coach back to Oldham after the game would be my idea of travelling in style. It's not quite the same as Arsenal chartering a plane for an 11 minute flight to Norwich.
  8. Unfortunately some bad news in the atricle to temper the good news of him signing. It says Paul Cook wants Byrne back at Wigan and we are unable to compete with the fee or personal terms Scunthorpe are offering forDoyle.
  9. It's probably worth pointing out, for those who don't often venture around that side of the ground, that the unit fronts on to the car park so you won't need to go in to the ground first to access the bar.
  10. There must be a way to do it, even if not via ifollow. Wimbledon did it for their midweek away game against us last month. I think they charged £5 for entry with a pay bar and there were food options too. I reckon that sort of thing would be quite successful for far away midweek away games.
  11. The MEN OAFC twitter account is saying that the move for McEleney is not dependent on Byrne leaving and Wellens is still hoping that Byrne might stay. He does sound like a like for like replacement though.
  12. Agree with this. They are completely different players who worked in completely different circumstances, and it's almost unfair to compare them. I think Ripley is the better shot stopper (although Placide isn't bad) and clearly Placide is the better distributor. I think Ripley was better suited to the way we played last season (i.e. trying to nick a goal and then defending the box trying to hold on) but he would clearly struggle to play the role Wellens wants his keeper to play this season (i.e. sweeper keeper/orchestrator of attacks) which Placide is so comfortable with. Both are the right keeper for the style of play during their time in the team.
  13. Yes. EFL wipes yellow cards on 30 November, Premier League doesn't do it until 31 December.
  14. Just seen Richie's ifollow interview. He said Gardner is injured and won't play with Green coming in for him. Although earlier in the interview he said Green was struggling with an injury too. He may be trying to repeat his Doyle/Portsmouth bit of kidology.
  15. Must have got himself an invite to the World Cup draw. I saw his mate Seedorf was there.
  16. Very informative article. The fact that they have published such a detailed account of their ongoing work with the club today would appear, in my mind at least, to cast doubt on the claim made on here earlier this week that they have downed tools because the club owes them £30k
  17. Looks like he's no longer with the MEN as his twitter bio now states 'freelance reporter' instead of 'Oldham Athletic reporter for the MEN'. I did wonder how long they would persist with a dedicated Latics reporter. The guy who did it before him covered other sports and teams as well and he now appears to have Latics coverage back in his portfolio. I imagine it must have been frustrating for him too, as there was never going to be a demand for a back page article on Latics everyday in the MEN as there was in the Chron.. On the plus side, it looks like Latics coverage in the Oldham Times has increased a bit recently and there is the prospect of more coverage when the Chron returns.
  18. This was in the Mail article. If true then they obviously suspect the club of doing something fraudulent rather than just paying them late. I just can't see the club staff being involved in some sort of sophisticated fraud. Potentially something to do with queries about how the foreign lads are being? It has been suggested before that some of these are on a decent wedge and have a different payment arrangement to other staff. I was reading the Rick Holden book on 14 great Latics games on a plane last night. In it he suggests that it was common knowledge during the cup run season that officially reported attendances were significantly below actual attendances. I suppose there is a chance they are looking in to something like that, but it doesn't seem likely to me given how low attendances have been in the last few years.
  19. As frustrating as it was not to win tonight, I don't have any complaints about the performance. I thought we played better than on Saturday. If that Eoin Doyle fella could finish we'd have won by 3 or 4
  20. I see Wimbledon are screening the game live in one of their hospitality suites. Fans have the option of booking a meal beforehand or just using the bar. Seems like a good idea and something we could potentially do in the Broadway suite for far away midweek away games.
  21. Placide kept a clean sheet today in Haiti's 1 -0 win against UAE.
  22. They've just published the second part of the Wellens press conference (where the journalists ask the quetions) from yesterday. He said one of the loan players has been refused permission to play by his club, but wouldn't say which one, as he wants to keep Carlisle guessing. Also said he hopes to have an assitant in place for the Rochdale game. He said it is dependent on if the finances will be in place to do it, so I suppose it may be linked to the takeover going through.
  23. On ifollow Wellens said he wasnt back yet and he'd told him to take as much time as he needs. Didn't say he definitely won't be back for Saturday, but I got the impression he isn't expecting him to play.
  24. In his post match interview the other night Richie talked about the players giving one last push on Saturday before there are 3 weeks without a league game, giving him an opportunity to give squad players a run out in the cup games. Sounds like he is expecting the game to be off.
