    It was offside though, even Tommy Wright looked surprised he wasn’t flagged. I seem to remember it being a bit nasty on the car park after the game as well that night

    I think I’m right in saying that we get to keep 5% of the revenue from ticket sales, so if you want Latics to benefit a little from another decent away following then get your ticket up front. I’ll be doing this particularly in the light of the piss poor away followings they bring to BP, we don’t benefit anywhere near enough from this local game as they do, in recent years it’s been like them having an extra home game in the season.

    I wouldn’t read too much into that, I would imagine it’s just people getting new jobs. Broadly left ages ago anyway, and now has his own company and also as you say has a position at Southport, I don’t think he has as much time to spend at Latics now.

    There was no chance of playing our football on that pitch, you may as well not play Jack Byrne when it’s like that. But it’s no excuse as it was the same for Bury who adapted to the conditions far better than us and in the first 20 minutes showed much more desire. That was our worse performance for sometime and yet we came away with a point which is the sign of a decent side. We have two home games now which if we can win will put us in the brink of yet another season in L1.

    We also had seats down to the halfway line in the upper tier of the main stand full too. Latics fans were still coming in at 3:15.
