  1. Think half term is the week after. I'm a season ticket holder too, and think this offer is great, anything (within reason) to get more bodies down to Boundary Park, to support us will be good. If they like what they see, then some of them will pass on the word, and come back themselves. Depending on what impact it has, and the type of game it is, then repeating it on a Saturday (maybe for a fiver), when more people and kids will have the opportunity to go, would be a good follow up. How about: Saturday February 26th v Peterborough then March 19th v Brighton You can't do it for every game, it's got to make an impact and be worthwhile. So we get a bigger crowd to see us beat of two rivals at the top end of the Division
  2. Can you add a 3rd option? who give's a ****? I'm with that one
  3. Oldham is: The place where I was born. The place where I've lived for all but one of my 47 years. The place where all my 3 children were born. The place where my mum and at least 4 generations back were born and lived all their lives. But above all to me Oldham is LATICS. The team I first went to see aged 4, and still go to today. The team that my 3 children also support. The team that this season have made us proud again. The team that last season made us all not want to go, but kept going. The team that I saw lose at home to South Shields in 1968 or 9. The team that we saw at Wembley twice. The team that scored a last minute winner against Sheffiled Wednesday and we all went mad. The team that beat Man U at home in the premier league and we all sang 'always look on the bright side of life da dum da dum' The team that beat City, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea The team that beat Southampton 4-3 on the last day of the season to stay in the Premier League, after being 4-1 up. The team that whowver the manager is harldy ever score from corners. The team that often are 2-0 up and cruising and then give a soft goal away , so we have to endure the last 5 or 10 minutes trying not to look. So many more memories, good and bad and sad. LATICS is Oldham to me. Oldham itself is not what it used to be (no details required there), but let's keep our beloved LATICS going for as long as we live. Don't let our team die, and if that mans moving to another 'local' town, I'd live with that and still go, because it is and always will be LATICS. Without Simon Corney and the other TTA 7 years ago we probably wouldn't have our LATICS, so keep the faith and spread the word.
  4. There's nowhere to go in Oldham Barry, unfortunately, and the council have shown on more than one occasion that they couldn't organise a pu in a b. So we've got to look at the other options, short and long term. Other clubs have gone somehwere temporarily, and move on from there. Curzon Ashton looks a fair option, and somewhere in or around Ashton for a new ground would be good. There seems to plenty of land between the Ashton Sainsbury's and the M60 around there. I don't know if it's available or even possible with the Footbal League saying you need to play in your metroplitan borough. But with nothing happening in Oldham, they'd proably prefer a team playing somewhere nearby than not playing at all. Let's all do as many of these as possible: keep going and supporting try to bring more along support the player share scheme ..................................................................pray
  5. was in a bar that showed sky sports- ugh! -west brom v wigan. told the barman , who was irish that i wanted to see the latics score, and he said ah john sheridan, here's my laptop -so followed it from there.
  6. cheers, will be back for Daggers on Saturday. also very tempted to go to brizzle to see us win by a few and give penney some deserved stick.
  7. am in Luxembourg tonight, but kept up to date from afar.great win, we're in for the play offs at least. what was the crowd tonight?
  8. let's hope not. we all know he loves the club, and dickov and taggart are motivating him brillantly.
  9. Come on - oh Chrissy Taylor, you are the love of my life, oh Chrissy Taylor I'd let you .......my wife
  10. The Daily Mail (yes I know) quotes the ginger Pele, after the Blackpool match this week: 'I don't know what I'm doing next year. I just want to concentrate on getting back playing for now. 'I like to have a week or two off at Christmas. This one just stretched out a bit longer.' With blue tinted glasses, I'd like to read that as: If Latics get promoted, I'd love to end my playing season with my beloved Latics for one season in the Chamionship or If Latics dont' get promoted, I'd love to end my playing season with my beloved Latics and help them get promoted to the Chamionship You'd think he knows PD & GT at some level, and that they've maybe thought of it already.
  11. cheers for that, spose they may be waiting for kilkenny to come back from the asia cup too.
  12. Try return from Stockport, it's either £16.40 or £21.20 for a day return at the mo on Virgin trains website. 1 hour 35 minutes.
  13. That's why he wanted to play from the start then? Though I thought he did well against Brentford, held the ball up well, you never know what he could do with a run of 3 or 4 games.
  14. I'd like to see him back. His goal against Exeter gave us a glimpse of what he can do. White on the left, Morais on the right, with Taylor and Tonk in the middle would be some forward line.
  15. I've not been around for the last few days, what's happening with him, are we signing, or not, and if so when?
  16. ok. is he from the north or south? is he an international? is he over 30? has he played with pd or gt?
  17. I had a chicken tarka at the shalimar last night... like a tikka, but.... a little 'otter.
  18. He'd be there already if he'd not chased the money and decided to leave the donkey lashers 6 or 7 years ago.
  19. Amos - 7 - He settled in well, and also seemed to be commanding the defence, telling them to get out, and what to do. After his punch out late in the game 4 or 5 players made a good point of coming over to praise him. Promising start. Black - 7 - Good game, seemed more confident. Black and Cedric are forming a good partnership on the left. Trotman - 9 - Definitely MOTM. Dominant, won the ball well, and great and well time sliding tackle near the end. Gave Austin no chance to shine. Hazell - 7 - Much better than Rochdale, shoed more of his good defensive qualities. Lee - 8 - Very good again, good at tracking back, defending, and launching attacks. Player of the season so far, IMHO. Morias - 8 - Another good performance, he's added tracking back and team awarenesss to his obvious skills, wiht that invisiblestring attaching the ball to his feet. Furman - 7 - Tidy, no nonsense perfomance, no chance to shoot, but plenty of solid tackles. Stephens - 6 - Average, where is the Stephens from the end of last and beginning of this season? Evina - 7 - Glad we've signed him again, though why for only a month? Was ok today, he's got more up his sleeve. You can't be captain of Arsenal's youth team without having something else. He likes the little Cruyff turns in midfield. Taylor - 7 - Great goal, and a few glimpses of what he can do, more to come. Also didn't do as much ref whinging, which is better. Tounkare - 5 - Probably needs a rest, but who could replace him from the start?
  20. According to wiki, Felming has played 18 games for us - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Fleming The number of 19 starts a clause in his contract, you never know.
