  1. I don't think it is a question of what he is worth, more likely how much can we afford to say no to. I don't think the club will be able to say no to offers around the 300k mark on the back of (probable) poor season ticket sales. For what it is worth, I think it is a pretty fair amount of money for a footballer who can't do the basics with a ball at his feet. KtF, Derek.
  2. What is going to happen with the pics in the bar after Saturdays game? Will they be available for sale? Over the last few weeks there have been some envious eyes cast over some of the framed photographs, and I for one would really like the picture of Palmer after breaking the goalscoring record against Ipswich. Do I need to bring my screwdriver? KtF, Derek.
  3. God creates universe - if you believe in that sort of thing . http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=13719 KtF, Derek.
  4. I'm going to ask the mods to get all mod-tastic on your ass. Eff off indeed! . KtF, Derek.
  5. What if you are not an ABU and you don't want Chel$ki or Liverpuddle or Barcelona to win it? Where is my choice? KtF, Derek. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Silly scouse pillock!
  6. Didn't Richards sign a new contract a few months back? I would imagine it would take quite a lot of money to sign him. I'm sure I read he was about to sign up for four or five years. Oh, and Brown on the way out at United? Not according to the Beeb he isn't. New Contracts at OT KtF, Derek.
  7. Jesus! What's the world coming to? Prizes for going to school? I tell yers, when I were a lad the prize was not getting battered by the old man, now they get I-Pods for turning up. No wonder there are so many little terwats about nowadays, they get everything on a plate. Chuck 'em up a chimney I say!
  8. All of them on more than one occassion this season. Even player of the season elect, Allott, had a shocking start to his second stint at BP. The kids that are new to first team football can be given some leeway given their lack of experience - so Alessandra and Smalley can be excused. Norm had an awful start but has improved, Kalala and Thompson have been consistent though. Consistently crap isn't a good thing though. Stam is another one that has been much more bad than good. Taylor and Eardley both with over 100 games each under their belts, still can't put together a decent run of performances on the bounce to make me think that they are going to be anything other than fairly ordinary players in this league - even though Eards is decent at getting stuck in, he can't do anything once he has the ball at his feet (I would recommend it may help if he gives Haining his boots back ). Taylor's just a tart. Greegs and Lids haven't really played enough in the latter part of the season to make a judgement call, and the same I suppose goes for Hughes - though he has had to run a fairly lonely furrow up top on his own at points this season. Hartlepool away comes to mind where he looked like the only footballer in our team. Davies is a sulker, Macca disappears at times when the going gets tough - though he is often the odd bit of the jigsaw and thrown in any old position to make up the eleven. Rubes, well there you go, someone who has been consistently good. An odd howler here and there, but not many bad games from him at all. Along with Allott, Smalley, Alessandra and the infrequently used kids, I think that they may be the only exceptions. KtF, Derek.
  9. He is 17 (perhaps 18). FFS, give the lad a fair crack of the whip. KtF, Derek.
  10. Is there something happening in the new season that I don't know about? Do all the blokes have to dress as one woman? If so I suggest a Latics shirt (No. 18) with ginger wig. There you go, dressed as a tart . KtF, Derek.
  11. Blimey BFL! Has your Missus gone off Lids? KtF, Derek.
  12. If they get in is another question though, eh Sav? You have been warned already by the old Bill. Hee hee. Oh, I won't be there, I'm on holiday. KtF, Derek.
  13. And surely by applying the same thought process, you could mention that it has been years since our supposed star striker bagged double figures, for what ever reason it may be, that he is aging and a long time out of the game, his fitness isn't what it once was, he has only played in around 35% of our games this season etc. etc. If you don't like him purely on the basis that you don't like him, then fair do's (that's much the same as the way that I judge Chris Taylor), but to try and wrap it up in these 'supposed facts' to support your argument but not apply the same rationale to your critique of Hughes is unfair on Lids I feel. Horses for courses and all that, but if you just don't like him it is fine to say just that. KtF, Derek.
  14. I'm glad you have cleared that up. 16 assists last season were pointless then? KtF, Derek.
  15. Or perhaps he gets the ball passed directly to him because he gets into good positions? KtF, Derek.
  16. Lids has got loads to offer IMO Exile. Yeah, he has lost a couple of yards of pace, but for me he is still by far and away the best player at the club with the ball at his feet; and I still think that he could do a fine job as a playmaker in the middle. I also suspect he isn't on the mega-bucks that many think he is. I would think his 3 year deal made him an affordable prospect for us as opposed to a 2 year deal that we wouldn't have been able to afford. I have since checked the stats, 21 for Hughes, 18 for Lids (both including subs appearances). With 4 left it looks like Lids may have to give up his 'crock of the season' spot for Hughes after all. KtF, Derek.
  17. I haven't looked into it BFL, but I would hazard a guess he isn't far off making the same number of appearances as your beloved Lee Hughes. Do the same 'waste of money and space' rules apply in his case too? KtF, Derek.
  18. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  19. 'Your name is Danny Knight. Understand?' 'Si' ' Are you sure you understand that your name is Danny Knight?' 'Si' 'What's your name?' 'Diego Cevero' Comedy classics all the way from Mossley! KtF, Derek.
  20. Stretch and Hughes in the same team? Interesting recall abilities! Tierney, Killen, Eyres, Beckett, Hughes. Not rocket science is it? KtF, Derek.
  21. Yes, from what I saw he had a good game on Saturday, had to miss the last half hour due to other commitments; but I would hardly call 1 good game overcoming a bad patch - it is exactly what it is - one game. Now if he could produce performances like this, say, 4 or 5 out of 7 times, then he will be getting some way into over coming his bad patch IMO. I had some new clothes on, you must have mis-heard me. I said my Tailor's done OK . KtF, Derek.
