  1. A lot of Manchester people live in Oldham plus I'm not sure that enough Oldhamers are interested in parting with money for a live sporting event any more. Look at how Oldham Rugby have struggled to attract decent gates even when they were in the Super League.
  2. I've been playing this for about six months. I live down in Surrey. It's fantastic and brilliant for keeping me fit. I'm sixty five and I'd really recommend it to anyone over fifty five. If there isn't one near you, then start your own.
  3. Altogether now: The Power of Bove, scores goals from above, lifting your soul. Good old Franky goes to Hollywood
  4. Do you think they shave yet? Must admit I'm trembling reading that magnificent poetry! Mind you, their English isn't too good - I mean " A Appointment? No, sunshine; that should read AN Appointment! Still, good try. Don't stay up too late!
  5. I think Forte will be rested. He's not training at the moment and I think LJ will keep him fresh for Saturday.
  6. Speaking about the deal, Lee Johnson said: "Poleon is a young talent who is quite unproven but he's got a good reputation in football with the managers he has worked with. "We believe he needs to be coached and educated but we know he has the raw potential to be a big asset to this club and that's why the chairman has gone the extra mile to sign him."
  7. Fulham, direct? Their fans wish they were. Pass, pass, pass last season and , because Wilkins was on the coaching staff, all the passes were across the pitch and back again!
  8. In: a very small thirty five year old striker from Kilmarnock/Bristol City who has a limp and raw pace - you know the sort, just like Dickov told us Ruben Reid had or an even smaller seventeen year old striker, who has played for England under fourteens and is presently in the employ of a Premiership club and will be available to play just as soon as his bail is paid!
  9. Chris Iwelumo - kept trying to head the ball no matter how close to the ground it was and ran off the field quicker than he ever managed during the match!
  10. Wasn't able to go so followed it on Twitter - Latics player was quiet as a mouse - but it seemed to be a well deserved win. Do we still need a new striker? I think we do.
  11. Hope no one is suggesting South Yorkshire police can't do their job properly!
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to recall LJ saying that this seasons squad was better than last season's, but today he's saying that it would be interesting to see how last season's squad faired this season. I agree with many of you who say he talks too much. Less talk, fix the team and please only sign players who are fit!
  13. Correct! I could give you a list of their poor communications but I won't - it would take too long.
  14. Dream on! It's taken forever to build one small stand and still they're not taking bookings for season tickets for it, nor do they have a plan for how the space is to be used.
  15. Latics are hopeless at informing their supporters about anything. I would have thought that by now, with the new stand going up, a clear plan of how the spaces are to be carved up would be placed before us. But as it's Latics, they probably don't know themselves!
  16. Well it won't be too long before the transfer meryy-go-round starts and we get linked with every player going!
  17. Can't imagine that Greg Dyke in his former post of chairman of League One Brentford, would have welcomed this! What you have to remember about the big Premiership teams is that they acquire young players for two reasons. One bunch of players are bought to sell on - purely a way of making money - and the others are brought in with the hope that they will make it to the first team eventually. A radical plan would have demanded that Premiership teams have, say, a fifty fifty squad - half British players and half born overseas.
  18. 7. How many new managers get their team on a an unbeaten ten-match run?
  19. Whoever we play - I want us to beat them. End of!
  20. Having supported Latics since 1958 I would say we've had some very good players (Ritchie etc) but no great ones.
  21. Yes keep the basis of this team. If Harkins doesn't sign for us this will leave a huge whole in the team. He has provided far more to this team than a 'few flashy bits'. His goals have been invaluable and his creative spark was never better demonstrated than in the home win against Peterborough.
  22. Eight games ago I didn't expect Latics to go unbeaten and keep so many clean sheets. I think LJ deserves a lot of praise for getting the job done. Just shows what can be achieved with a settled side. Also, I know there have been some critics of our central defenders, but I think they've got better and better. I watched M'voto gift a goal away last night and Tarky did the same
  23. Well the club do know of this site and often make comments about opinions expressed here. It surely wouldn't take too much for them to address the fans concerns. Also, I would like, but don't expect, Latics to be a bit more on the front foot regarding their communication with fans. It appears that so many times the club denies or refutes 'speculation' instead of telling us more initially.
