  1. If we do we're a million miles away from completing it.
  2. It's one thing to say they don't look forward to it, and another to say they resent it. As someone else has said though, it's most likely just a case of Corney talkng bollocks.
  3. Great memories, and as has been mentioned made all the better by getting on the coach after the game to find out that Utd had been relegated! We always took loads to York after that, with plenty of lads organising their own coaches for a good piss up. I wasn't on the coach mentioned here, but I remember Mick Bradbury from school, when some from Saddleworth came to Grange 6th form. He was a sound lad, and the last time I saw him (many, many years ago) he was just about to emigrate to Canada. Have you any idea if he's still there?
  4. I’ve always thought that the hardest part of management, and the part that most managers struggle with, is how to make the right changes when things are going well anyway. It’s easy to change a team after a bad result or run of results, make substitutions when you are losing etc, but the hard decisions are the subs you make to see out a game when you’re winning anyway, changing a winning team to suit the opposition or if certain players become available again, or adding to a squad that is doing well. Most managers struggle with this, especially the newer ones, but it’s the one’s that show the foresight to see and solve problems before they happen than go on to have a decent managerial career. Many aren’t given the chance to develop and learn from their mistakes. Make the same error more than once and that’s enough for plenty of fans (not just here, it’s the same everywhere) to want the revolving door spinning again. It’s a difficult job being a football manager, despite everyone thinking they can do it, but if we persevere with someone and allow him time to mature into the job, well you never know, it just might work.
  5. Pep Guardiola is always on the touchline. My prediction, for what it's worth. We'll kick off the 2012-13 season with another manager in charge. We got beat by a better side yesterday and yes, Dickov got some things wrong, but the usual moans are coming. 'wrong actions on the touchline, tactics wrong, people picking up on what does or doesn't say', put all this together with a trigger happy chairman (despite his recent proclamations) , and sadly I can only see this going one way.
  6. He never played alongside Gregan. He only broke into the team to replace Gregan when he was out with a long term injury. His regular partner was Stam, and when he was injured, Hazell.
  7. What he says in that interview is exactly what every manager should say, and be aiming for, no matter how difficult it may be to achieve. None of this settling for fifth from bottom bollocks, or even mid table.
  8. I thought Gary Doherty (12) won everything for them, especially in the air. One of the best opposing centre half displays I've seen for a good while.
  9. Yeah, we're better off being :censored: then no-one will want our manager or any of our players.
  10. If Corney can find us somewhere else to play then next season they will stop fans using Boundary Park altogether.
  11. There was a letter in the Chron the other night from someone from one of the Failsworth protest groups (SOPFROGS or something like that), basically asking why the Council are spending so much time trying to sort out Latics ground problems etc. Basically it said 'Their problems are of their own, let them sort themselves out, stop spending time on them and look after the rest of the town.' It may be that it's in response to that.
  12. The problem is that it would appear that they are seriously considering groundsharing as a cost cutting exercise with absolutely no future plans in place. I didn't go last night but from what I've read on here and on the Official site they seem to be saying that Failsworth was the only site available in Oldham. Corney is quoted as saying he's examined every available piece of land and none fits the bill. Sadly, the only conclusion I can draw myself from that (unless or until thay come up with something more positive), is that if we move out of Oldham to groundshare, we ain't coming back.
  13. It won't do. But if HMRC (or any other creditor) issues a winding up order against us, then going into administration is the only way of stopping it being enforced if we can't afford to pay the bill.
  14. Also, if we are struggling to meet the wage bill why did we add to it by paying an 'undisclosed fee' for Rueben Reid and putting the likes of Evina, Morais and Alibama (or whatever he's called) permanently on the payroll?
  15. To be fair I don't think even the Chron would have to come on here to find out what the alternatives are. If Corney says were offski's (which he has done more than once), then it's not hard to work out where we would probably end up going. They probably just missed out that running track near Citeh's ground, but as has been said, it's a nothing article with the Chron doing their bit (or so they think) to add to the speculation and fill up a couple of pages.
  16. Why should they ignore it? It happened, everyone saw it, so it's not as if they're making something out of nothing. If someone from the Carlisle bench had done what Taggart did there would be uproar on here, with practically everyone demanding the FA take immediate action. That said, it did liven a dull game up.
  17. I'm sorry Barry but it doesn't help at all. At one of the forums at Radclyffe School re Failsworth, Corney was asked the question as to what would happen if it didn't get the go ahead. He replied that we would stay at Boundary Park but we would have to cut our cloth accordingly. There was absolutely no mention of groundsharing, so was he lying?
  18. Barry Can you tell me why the subject of leaving BP at the end of the season has never been mentioned before? Even if we had got the nod from the Charities Commission there was still a long way to go before it got the final green light, so we were never going to be kicking off there in August. Prior to the announcement last week there wasn't even the slightest indication of this groundshare crap, so why is there now? Something stinks, and this stench needs cleaning up.
  19. We can't let this happen. There must be some legal recourse to make them stick to the original agreement. You can't just sign off to something to get your hands on it then bin it off when it suits you, no matter how much it's going to cost. It's the rugby scenario all over again. Leave Oldham and we aint coming back. You can blame the council all you want (and god knows they deserve it), but Corney's calling the shots now. If he forces us out of BP at the end of the season, then he's finished the job that Chris Moore started.
  20. Just one thing. I don't think it's the Council that have been saying there are no other plots of land for us to develop. As far as I'm aware I've only ever heard the club say that.
  21. One of them says that those who don't go will spend their money on blue wicked and smirnoff ice. Isn't that what you keep saying?
