Which, clearly, is bad form; however, an effort should be made to separate the two incidents. Drinking heavily mid-season = bad. Going on a boys' holiday in the off-season = good. If the debate is about whether or not (NOT!) the players should be consuming excessive alcohol during a league campaign, then I'm pretty sure there'd be a resounding majority in favour of mass castigation (masstigation - teehee). They will have been given a rough programme to follow for the summer, but that will have included afew beers and a holiday im sure! And Lags, what right exactly do you have to criticise the players for what they do (aslong as its not bringing the club into disripute, which as said there not) when there on holiday? Freedom of speech and thought gives me the right. It is my belief that the behaviour seen over this last season contributed to it's demise. I see no change currently with this thread. Are you a sports scientist... I think it's bad practice these days for professional footballers to binge drink anyway, even out of season. You don't need to be a sports scientist to see that. You also don't need to prove that those players drunk all of those drinks. It's obvious they did. There needs to be a bit of calming down on both sides of the argument myself. On the one hand, they're young lads, out of season and they shouldn't be lynched by fans although expressing concern is fine. On the other hand, especially in the season just gone and the drinking culture that did infest itself within the club, keeping any shennanigans like this low key should have been high in EVERY players' mind. So, a bit of perspective needed. Possibly for all three of them it's going to be an important season in their developments, in particularly Kelvin and Lewi. Eardley will move on within the next 2 seasons regardless as the club will be looking to bring in a fee. What say you to that? is this holiday a one off? Well show that.... Don't show something which is perfectly acceptable and presents no issue... Present something that breaks the clubs rules and maybe you will prove your point... What you have shown so far proves nothing....other than a possible axe to grind ? I also believe you mean well with this 'constructive criticism' - however this thread will probably do the players more harm than good! Mountain out of a mole hill - when photos come along of the lads spewing up in an Oldham bar over Christmas then we can name and 'shame' them. Let's let it go now. If photo's are going to do more harm than good don't take them. There are thousands of examples of people who's jobs have been effected by the use of Facebook. If you don't want people to see a picture don't take it. I've been caught out before, I'm sure many of you have, and that's only my fault. For what it's worth I don't think they've done anything wrong. But if they think they have or if they think there will be negative effects from this on their careers then you can't blame the medium only the person. The same right I have now in saying I want to see our young lads make the right choices and give themselves a sporting chance. Last season in case you haven't noticed as gad a detrimental effect on the hard core fans with what they've witnessed unfold on and off the pitch. To avoid any confusion, the forums content is created my its members so, this is directed at all of us then I don't know... Just to give everybody some clarity we have had a strong request by a member to delete this thread due to its varying of opinions, and some of which do not put some players in a good light. It was dubbed a "pathetic thread" and they demanded a censorship to be enforced on the forums. Filtering swearing, bullying, personal attacks, slander, pornography and so-on is one thing - filtering opinion is quite another animal altogether. Here here....well said... I do feel sorry for the lads in question though... They are operating within the rules set by the club and are being attacked for it... I am taking issue with your chosen method to bring all this up... You have shown us a picture which provide ZERO evidence of any wrong doing... If their is evidence of rule breaking then please show it to us... Why the hell you choose to show us this link and not one that actually shows real rule breaking if you have it is beyond me.... Prove me wrong then. I can say that. However I can clearly show what a caption infurs. It clearly states that a line of empties was purely drink consumed even before they went out.
