It's a Minging Life

Recommended Posts

Strolling through town on the Isle of Man, seen a sign outside the book shop:

RICK HOLDEN'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN STOCK

And so it was! Didn't even know one was on the cards, anyone had a read yet or has it literally just come out?

Book

Shall ask for one for my birthday!

I knew it was out, was not sure of date, but it says on the link you provided it says it was published on 1st Oct 2010.

So pretty new.

So, he's at the club on City Legends day. He's a real 'legend' amongst the Citeh fans

Despite the fact he provided the most assists for them in 92/93 - including the one for Niall Quinn's winner at BP that year. Quinn himself called him the best crosser of the ball he'd played with. No mean feat. But because he didn't tear arse down the wing before whipping 'em in from the by-line the Citeh lot didn't rate him. Clueless!!!!*

*Although it was clear to see his best days were (mostly) behind him when he returned to BP 14 months later...

Bought my dad a signed copy for Christmas and he cant put it down!

Same here.

Unfortunately the detailed insider view of the the cup disappointments isn't resting any ghosts for me!

Found his views on Graeme Sharpe interesting - think everyone knew that appointing Sharpe as manager was a big mistake from day one!

Anyone else get this for Christmas?

Just read Chapter 6 and unpicked all the scars from the 1993/94 season.....

yep. Not reached there yet. Surprised how little 89/90 is mentioned. Can't decide whether I'm annoyed that so much talent was squandered in bars or pleased that footballers are relatively normal

Also got the book for xmas pressy ,

interesting in 1990 they played 65 games and RH played in 64 of them.

Can you imagine the whimps at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge doing that today , Sir Alex would have kittens !!!!!!!

Earl 'The Pearl' played in all 65 - magnificent achievement...
