oafcprozac
Good draw, I dont fear us going to Preston. Think it's one of the wankiest draws we could have got!
MaskedOwl
prob one of most difficult
joncurtis199
If Southend win the replay, sure. PNE isn't that bad. Winnable and close. Theres definately better draws out there, but theres a lot worse.
JoeP
Think it's one of the wankiest draws we could have got! Be grateful for small mercies - the continuation of the Carlisle epic looked on the cards for a bit!
chaddy the owl
I'm taking a gum sheild and boxing gloves if it's PNE. Lol
oafc-latics
So we could get Preston twice in the league, twice in the cup and twice in the JPT? It's winnable, but it's not the most exciting
oafckev
Very tough draw for us. Southend haven't lost at home since August and we saw how tight the Preston game was. That being said, I think both of them won't look forward to playing us.
PlayItLivo
No, 3rd round this year then.
apple
If only the players had the same attitude as some on here......we'd be out of every cup and bottom of the league.
rosa
Quite pleased from a selfish point of view - i really wanted to go to Preston and couldn't make it to the league game cos of work. Crap draw if it ends up being Southend though - long away trip, not going to be a big crowd, tough draw with their home record.
PhilStarbucksSilkySkills
Good news is that they both have a replay to contest over the next three weeks, and this combined with the fact that they are both still in the JPT along with us. We may be a little fresher than either of them come match day.
rosa
Bit off topic but was anyone listening to the commentary of the Halifax-Charlton game on radio 5? "They say Oldham's the coldest ground, they want to try coming here on a Tuesday night in November". My brother's response was "I've been to your ground on a Saturday afternoon in April. It was colder."
Stevie_J
It's a crap draw. The odds were looking good for us getting Totton away, as the balls became fewer, which would have been a near-cert for TV coverage. Shame. We'll just have to get through to round three for a televised clash at Old Trafford instead or the Council House instead.
Lookers_Carl
I would fancy our chances alot more if we could take this to a replay. Would also definitely rather have Preston than Southend.
Frankly Mr Shankly
Not a great draw, but given a good third of the draw were teams I'd rather us avoid then there was more of a good chance of us getting a bit of a bum one. That said, if it's Preston, they're struggling to adapt this year. Phil Brown is treading on thin ice there and our game there showed us that we're more than good enough to compete. Plus, it'll be a decent crowd and a good atmosphere. Southend. Well, we've a decent recent record there. Sturrock has injected some steel into them, but we're more than capable of going down, picking up at least a draw. Personally, I was dreading us getting Colchester, Franchise Scum, Charlton, Yeovil and probably half a dozen others more away from home. It's a bit of a 'meh' draw from me but not a cornflake spitter-outer.
losesome
At least we avoided Cheltenham !!!!!!!!

That comes in the third round when the excitement over a potential money-spinning tie against one of the big boys builds and then you're drawn away at Scunny. BP1960
Southend v Latics if it happens might be a live TV game, particularly if Southend are still at the top of the league.
Zorrro
Really? Really?! No one's bothered about a L1 vs L2 tie at this stage. It's all about the non-league sides.

Fair point, but don't they decide the TV games before the replays?
