Goram was only 18 when he was first choice in what is now called the Championship , mind his understudy Gorton looked like he could be at least as good , but it was never to be.

Gary Kelly is as good a penalty saver as I have ever seen , we give bucket loads away & he saved stacks of them.

Although at the time Pete some thought John Hardie was the better keeper.

I always thought Hardie would be our No1 for some time, but Rollo was top class.

The best taker of a cross ever at BP, Peter McDonnell.

Who, oddly, took goal kicks right footed, but cleared left footed from his hands.

And left either knee in the nether regions of anyone foolish enough to challenge him for a cross.

As I am unable to vote for someone who I would piss petrol on if he was on fire, I had gone for Pogs, completely irrationally based on one of the few performances I have seen from a Latics player that was genuinely absolutely world class.
