There isn't exactly a queue is there???

So are you saying on the basis that a Rich man has said the club is on his radar he is now the messiah?

I'd need abit more convincing personally not saying he might not be but we know very little about this guy or what his intentions are and that's why I've not voted on this poll. I don't judge players or managers straight away I won't be doing it with a potential owner either.

I never once said he is the Messiah? I don't think he is.

What I said is, I would rather take a chance than rot in this division for another 15 years.

All I am saying is, people seem to be stating lot's of opinion's about why Koukash will be bad news and not one person has come up with anything concrete about why he is bad news.

Your right I agree with you it would be wrong to dismiss the idea he's bad for the club he may well turn out to be what we've been looking for. We can't make a definitive judgement on him yet.

Perhaps when he said we were on his radar he was testing the water to see how much support he would get for a takeover. perhaps he's even been reading this message board? lets see how this one pans out.

I'm quite happy to wait though I know we've been in this division for too long but If gaining success means waiting just a few more years then so be it.

It's understandable that Latics fans are cautious - why would anyone want to takeover a stagnant third tier football club for the sake of it? It's very unlikely he'd want to pump millions in, with nothing in it for himself.

He seems like a businessman first and has already re-branded Salford RL club, and seems to have suggested previously he'd happily move Latics away from Oldham. Admittedly, FL rules suggest he's not allowed to do this anymore, but you have to wonder what else he's got up his sleeve, if he was willing to do that. He seems to view a sports club as a "product" and I know many on here, like myself, hate that!

Perhaps to his own lunacy, Corney seems like a football fan before business - I genuinely believe he would have sold us down the river to Vaughan or Koukash before now if he just saw the club just as a business.

If Koukash had come in when the club is on the up, with the new stand built and the team, at minimum, challenging at the top of this divisiom to take us to the next level, I probably would have been less sceptical. For someone to come in now, with no obvious reason why, just smells a bit fishy.

I keep reading this from a lot of people.

What exactly do you mean?

Someone who appreciates the club as an institution, rather than come up with ideas of moving us to another area (admittedly prohibited) or changing our name.

What other type of person are you thinking might have the money to buy a football club?

A fan with a good business head who's won the lottery!

I decided reluctantly to vote Koukash. I would really like to see SC go out on a high at the end of this season, following promotion, and the new stand well on it's way (although I don't think it's the right stand) after all his sometimes thankless efforts in keeping the club afloat. He can't take us any further than that though, and we need funds to survive in the Championship. Preferably I'd like the pair of them run the club, but I doubt that could happen as both of them seem to want sole control of what they do. My concern would not necessarily be what Koukash wants out of the club, but how concerned would he be when he decides to sell it on. Would he have the clubs interests at heart or his own? But that would be an argument to have well into the future I hope.

71% have voted to stagnate? As with any new owner, there's bound to be reservations but how anybody can suggest changes aren't needed is beyond me.

Sub 4,000 crowds say all you need to know about the current situation and with Corney as much as saying we're where we should be without any real chance of things getting better, anyone who fancies a punt should be welcomed with open arms.

I don't think the question helps... The question of 'who do you trust more with the future of latics?' People are bound to choose corney over koukash simply because we KNOW he will keep the club afloat and not try to move us anywhere from BP... As for koukash none of us know anything about him apart from the obvious!

So if the question was 'who do you want to own the latics?' I think more people would choose koukash... I voted corney because of what the question asks - if the question was different id of most probably chose koukash

.

What's koukash a grand plan? Do you know because I haven't seen one?

If he has one and comes out and shows it and that he will invest in the club I'm pretty sure all those who voted for corney will be pretty much sold on the idea of koukash coming. But their is currently nothing for anyone to hang their hat on.

To be fair to him, it's an impossible situation to be in that one...

How is he mean't to tell everyone his plans for OAFC when someone else currently own's us?

SC deserves a lot of credit for what he's done for the club I think, he's been fantastic. However, should Koukash agree not to move us out of the Borough I certainly wouldn't complain about Latics benefiting from his cash...

No, but I like what he said and it's time to roll the dice. It's not Koukash that is the issue, it's the fear of the unknown.

We'll rot if people are happy to go on.

Its all well and good saying that changes are needed to progress in fact its stating the bleeding obvious.

But we know f-all about this guy and what the current alternative is thats why the poll has panned out the way it has. I'm sure we would all like an improved life doesn't mean we would all go and jump in the nearest casino and bet our mortgages and life savings on black.

Lets see how this pans out if he wants the club badly enough he will get it. If he invests in the team and the club wisely then his name will be sang from the rooftops thats what we all want.
