Gaz_Oafc
He's been there best player this season. Their fans think that 30k is a derisory offer and he's worth 10x that (even though he's out of contract and they in administration) and they reckn we'll get told where to shove it. Zorrro
what? There's a character in The Thick of It/In The Loop called Jamie McDonald. That's my favourite quote of his.
BP1960
Four keepers on the books and looking to sign another, put the money toward a striker LJ.
jbrown23
Four keepers on the books and looking to sign another, put the money toward a striker LJ. Who's the 4th BP/ I can only think Ox, Rachubka and Simpson/ Possibly looking to get him before his contract is up in the summer and other teams come in for him. We'll be losing Ox and I wouldnt be surprised is Rachubka [he's only contracted tll Summer right/] is released so Macdonald and Simpson could be our two
NewBlue
Four keepers on the books and looking to sign another, put the money toward a striker LJ. Whilst I certainly agree with that, it's quite opportunistic to put in a low bid for Hearts players during their crisis. Test their resolve. We may end up with a quality goalkeeper that we're able to sell on for 10 times what we paid for him. Perhaps having an asset like that would prompt Corney to dip into his pocket a little more. Or maybe we already have a striker lined up and ready to sign.
jsslatic
If we can get a bargain on a good keeper* then great. Long term project, no harm getting a good deal on a keeper who will play next season too. Ox isn't ours, Rachubka is a short term back up and Simpson is a novice (and may be off anyway). *I've got no idea how good he is.
Gaz_Oafc
Bit more reading of the hearts forum suggest he's a good shot stopper but fails to command his area and doesn't come for crosses (oxley mk2?) We're getting a :censored: load of stick for only offering 30k and a journo on Twitter suggests that the offer is in fact only 20k and a deal is unlikely at this stage. the_mighty_bosh
If this goes through he would automatically become my favourite signing ever simply because of The Thick Of It!

Ross2509
I'd be happy with this, we'll need a keeper for next season and onwards to build the club with so LJ looking around for some dealings is really promising and if he's as good as their fans make out we may have signed a decent one. Gaz_Oafc
Bid of 20k rejected according to the Edinburgh News with neither the club nor the player keen on the idea.
the_mighty_bosh
Corners would be interesting. Jamie: Are you a horse? Striker: I'm sorry? Jamie: Are you a f*cking horse?!
Latic76
I would assume we're not going to have Oxley next season will need another keeper as LJ can rate Chewy very highly as he's hardy played. Makes sense to me.....

Gaz_Oafc
Apparently he took a 50p/c paycut to stay through their troubles, has already said he wants to stay next season even if relegated and is a boyhood hearts fan.
