NewBlue Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) According to the Chron for Johnson and Wright. Thread to stop this fictitious £200k myth being banded about for ever more. Edited February 26, 2015 by NewBlue
Clifford Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 According to other media outlets it's £200k. Hardly confirmation either way.
opinions4u Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 It will be a number from his contract. Whatever the truth there will have been little room to negotiate.
blueatheart Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 It will be a number from his contract. Whatever the truth there will have been little room to negotiate. Probably why he signed a three year contract, easy enough for him to get out of if a club came in for him.
HarryBosch Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 We should have got at least undisclosed for them.
deyres42 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 That seems a remarkably low figure to disrupt your season for.
SavageTheBeast Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 So Johnson is worth between a Joe Colbeck and a Dominic Poleon
Dave_Og Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 It has always puzzled me that managers are valued so low compared to players when it is always the manager's fault when it goes wrong
ghostofcecere Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 If it was £75K then it seems to me the board (Corney) wanted LJ out as cashing in on him would harldy have been worth it
palmer1 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Oh you all believe the Chron now....funny that ;)
archiecat Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Doesn't matter how much it is, some money is better than none and if you think about it, Barnsley could have gone anywhere, there are loads of out of work Dwarfs at this time of year
HarryBosch Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 My take on it all is that Johnson has had an agreement with Corney right from the off that he'll move on when the right opportunity (in his eyes) comes along. It's also not beyond the realms of possibility that the contract extension was all Johnson's idea and was designed to be both a public endorsement of the job he was doing and a way of ensuring compensation from whichever club he ultimately left for. I reckon Corney has learnt a fair few tricks from the sneaky little bastard that will serve us very well going forward.
deyres42 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I remember hearing a tale at the time that it was Mr Zen Office who pushed for the contract extension to be given. Have to think there has been a fallout or breakdown in trust, maybe from the Evans thing, maybe something else - we can't be skint enough to need to get 75k in the pot urgently.
Roger Ritchie Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Add £75k to the money from Evans' father in law and we've got ourselves a knees up.
BP1960 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 75k equate to a years wages we reckon? Has Tommy gone on a free?
singe Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Doesn't his deal have 3 and a bit years to run. I guess we could not push for the whole 3 years. It does give credence to the low salary rumour. That said, I reckon there was a large bonus for promotion and trasfer cuts.
singe Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Has Tommy gone on a free? Yes, but we've saved a packet on dry cleaning his coat...
BP1960 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Yes, but we've saved a packet on dry cleaning his coat... I think it's SC whos been taken to the cleaners.
singe Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I think it's SC whos been taken to the cleaners. I think Johnson left us high and dry...
BP1960 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) I think Johnson left us high and dry... He's even taken his own washing powder; ' Edited February 26, 2015 by BP1960
OAFC_ULTRA Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 It isnt 75k. The chron are printing rubbish as per usual

OAFC_ULTRA Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Okay, when you put it like that I know your right. Glad you have seen sense ;)
NewBlue Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 Looks like we'll be receiving a bit more compensation from Barnsley as apparently some of their fans ripped up seats in the away end. Yorkshire Neanderthals.
