oafc_lover
Blitz abd Daza[ will be happy that so many Latics suppporters are so keen for them to make some extra dosh. RichardOafc
It was confirmed by nnn and fellow supporters at the recent meeting that OAFC 2004 Ltd only get match day revenues (notes 24/01/2017) Brass Bank Ltd and Oldham Event Centre Ltd get 'non match day' revenues I would hope that OAFC 2004 Ltd would resist any attempt to use Boundary Park for any such events to ensure the playing surface is not put at risk of deteriorating further. maybe why any new investors are so difficult to find,

Wouldn't that income help payoff the debt and therefore potentially then allow the company to put more money back into the football team? L1onheartNew
Off to see the B-52s and simple minds on the weekend at siromet winery. Bands that are touring because they enjoy it; Not because they need the money like the libertines. Also helps when the bands are as you said, not :censored: even 30 years after they were brilliant. I wouldn't be too sure. They make :censored: all off record sales thanks to Spotify etc. Think I read somewhere the Human League only put a new record out thanks to a couple of long tours to raise enough revenue to record it. Personally hate stadium gigs. Haven't been to a good one yet and I especially include Oasis at Maine Road in that and all. But they're great revenue generators and we ought to be looking to be putting on at least 2-3 a year at BP. A local-themed one would be a good idea; Carpets headlining. Support from Barclay James Harvest, Cabbage (top Mossley band getting hammered on 6music), get Twisted Wheel reformed and add a couple more other up and coming local bands. Ideally the club could self-promote it but they can't be trusted to put a :censored:ing pie and peas night on properly. Reckon you'd get people all over town and beyond for that one. 1-2-3 you're back in the room.
Forte_Baby
I'm sure Jenny said a few seasons back that we were going to have gigs at bp, never materialised though. Sure I read when we almost went under during Moore they wanted a gig at Latics of some sort but couldn't get the relevant license was mentioned a few seasons back
disjointed
It does sound Lima good idea, but you have to draw the line somewhere and the Libertines are definitely beneath it. RichardOafc
Isn't whether or not you enjoy it the bit that matters? I agree harry I don't think it matters who plays, I don't think the council would have many objections to a few thousand people spending money in the town beforehand either. Therefore, little loss (a bit less beer sold) if it's raining or cold. The Arena's arguably the worst place in Manchester to watch a gig by the way. Frankly Mr Shankly
BP is one of the worst served grounds in the country if you want to get there by public transport. I don't think it's any worse than Prenton Park though. And for big events you can easily run shuttle buses from local tram or train stations. It depends who's playing. Wellend indie bands would attract an audience full of Gary Lagers who depend on public transport where as your teenybob or old timer band the majority of the audience would get there by car. oafc1955
It was confirmed by nnn and fellow supporters at the recent meeting that OAFC 2004 Ltd only get match day revenues (notes 24/01/2017) So basically the whole idea that the club would be making money 365 days a week instead of 23 (match day income) was the sole appeal of building a new stand and apparently paramount to the long term survival of the football club is total bollocks. We had matchday income before with the two corner suites....yes, we have a shiny new stand with better facilities but are we really that much better off? ....am I missing something? Maybe they could do us a special deal. We get money from everything new stand related, then pay it back towards the cost of building the new stand

We had matchday income before with the two corner suites....yes, we have a shiny new stand with better facilities but are we really that much better off? ....am I missing something? Not sure. Your post seems to include a tone of suspicion that we are being "done to" by the stand, and that someone is making a lot of money from it. From the notes from the recent nnn meeting it didn't read like that. There is a mortgage that at the moment the income is not covering. At the end of the mortgage, they would at best have a modest income, that would only be sustainable if there is a football team to watch - there are lots of conference facilities on offer, people use these places because they are a bit more interesting than a hotel. oafc1955
So the stand will never be fully owned by the club and as such will only ever generate match day income...is that correct?
yarddog73
Only in Oldham could you have third party owners of a stand
