It's not as though he was helping out the Sutton fans, unless he was thinking of ours. It will have cost AL though, having to pay Sutton's expenses. No doubt they stayed overnight somewhere. And the cost of the 14 pies that they would have sold.

Even more reason then to blame the ref! FFS. It’s not difficult to understand. You're being naive if you don't think the ref is influenced by the home club. He'll be asking how quickly it usually drains, does it usually cut up, will there be an increased risk of injuries etc etc. They'll steer that conversation in whichever direction suits. There was 20 minutes of conversation from the start of the pitch inspection and the decision being made. It'll be interesting to know what got said and between who. If there was any doubt, the game should of been called off first thing this morning. It was no secret the weather was going to be crap .

There is n way they could have reached that verdict just by looking at the pitch and I don't suppose they were given access to wander all over it. Its not the end of, he inspected the pitch at 1pm not 2pm, had he done so then the chances are with no rain it would have been on. Why didn't he wait while 2pm, I've seen matches with dense fog around and referees wait until just before kick off time if the forecast is for it to clear.
