Wonder how many keyboard warriors saying they won't be going and have asked for refunds actually go and meet corney.

Does it make their gripes any less valid if they don't want to go and argue the toss with him?

Or if they can't for whatever reason. There's a two hour window in the middle of a working day to discuss your concerns with Corney, and with less than 24 hours notice. Far from an ideal time for many.

I applaud Corney for making the effort, he seems to be very approachable, but to be very negative about those who have concerns about some of the decisions the board has made of late doesn't make you a keyboard warrior in the slightest.

Wrote to the club last night and texted Simon asking for a meeting explaining that I will not 'for the time being' invest further with the club whether it be ST, Exec Box or Conferencing until such time as this 'risk' has been proven successful and also asked him to confirm what success looks like to him next season.

NO reply as of yet.......will still be there in August but firmly POTD

I did however bump into an old friend over the weekend who stopped going to the club until Ian Stott left......he hasnt been back!

His Mum meeting Martin McGuinness and Kelly calling McGuinness a legend is not all there was on his Twitter feed that indicated he was very pro Sinn Fein.

For example he followed several prominent members of Sinn Fein, including some presumably related to McGuinness, and has tweeted about/to them, including some Re-Tweets.

Being pro Sinn Fein is not something that I would automatically associate with being an IRA sympathiser, but I can see how others would.

If you were born a Catholic in Derry and your uncle was killed on Bloody Sunday it's highly unlikely that you wouldn't support the IRA, as was....

What does that actually mean nowadays though to a 35 yr old who probably barely remembers them when they were properly active.

Does anyone know how Irishmen/women of his age group view their current incarnations? (Genuine question, I've no idea & I'm interested) Not many seem to be members anyway....

Supporting Sinn Fein in the North is much like supporting the SNP in Scotland. Anti Westminster, socialist, defends every local cause. It certainly doesn't indicate any desire to go back to violence - it was Martin McGuinness who told the Real IRA they were going to get shot if they carried on.

Just received an email from Andy Steel in the ticket office, refunds of seasons tickets can be made if you have the receipt. Now the decision I have to make if do I ask for it back? I have only been twice this year because of the repeated garbage put on display. I was motivated to help the club "take off" post capital investments and fully expected a decent manager/coach.

Can't hide the fact that the club has repeatedly gone for the cheapest manager out there....and we have reaped the rewards.

I would snap their hands off...

I can't fathom out why people are reacting this way to the appointment. Surely people know that season ticket sales bring in revenue to go towards forming a budget to sign players.

Less season tickets=less money=smaller/weaker playing squad.

I mean, come on, we were never going to get a Dowie, or a Warburton or a Gattuso. The reality is this, Kelly is our manager. No amount of cancelled season tickets is going to change that fact.

To me, it's almost like some people want the club to fail.

I think the club will fail under Kelly. I don't want us to. What do you suggest I do? Edited by HarryBosch

There is no indication that the club will fail under Kelly. We don't know enough about him to pass judgement. My advice is bite the bullet, get/keep your season ticket and support the club you have done for a while from what I can gather. I will be.

support the team ,

True supporters will still be there long after Kelly and everybody else has gone.

I feel the same now as when LJ got the job - it wasn't a disaster !!!

Nobody , not even SC or Kelly himself knows how things will turn out, the one thing in his favour is that most Latics rookie managers have done well.

500 S/T could not renew because of this but that only causes a bigger problem for the club - self fulfilling prophecy for the doom mongers , more S/T don't renew , smaller budget and we struggle to progress then the fans moan "told you so"

Only time and support will tell so at least lets give him that !!!!!

Chances are high that Kelly will fail with or without my money...granted the chances are higher without my money but truth is I have other things the money could buy that are more likely to make me happy.

Sadly my support of the club has been on a gradual decline over the last 10 years. I have gone from a season ticket holder and most away games, to a 5-10 home games a season supporter. I will be surprised if I attend more than 3/4 this season . I would love nothing more than to be given more reasons to attend but it's chicken and egg unfortunately. Playing football and golf is a more rewarding use of my time and money on the whole these days.

So what? People want someone who's been sacked four times in their managerial career, just so he's "heard of"??

Really??

I think many on here need a :censored:ing reality check, because the last time I checked we weren't in a position to to pay large salaries to the likes of Dowie etc. Someone who, incidentally, couldn't get us through the playoffs even with a huge bankroll!!

I'd much rather take chance on a hungry, young, untested manager than a journeyman, who's more used to P45's than he is promotion parties.

Anyone would think we're :censored:ing Barca, chucking their :censored: out of the pram because we've not offered Pep a deal....

Where's the facepalm emoji??

Fair play, I know times are harder for people and there are more pressing issues on people's agendas and I'm not hitting out at that fact.

What I will be fed up with is a few months down the line say around Christmas, those who have cancelled their tickets either whineing on about how thin the squad is or how crap player X is and 'I wish we could afford player X or 'Corney needs to splash the cash in January or we are doomed'

I know it shouldn't be down to just us supporters but in truth you only get out what you put in. If people WANT the club to be sucessful, back it!

I must remember when I want a successful business to look for someone who has never done the job and then pair him up with another learner with a shocking record who only got the job because others left. Wouldn't like my job to rely on such a cobbled together management team, so why should my favourite football club. Didn't expect Maurinho but at least someone who has managed higher than youth team! Tony P doesn't want the job but he has more experience than this guy!

Will still support my team but very disappointed and no wonder it was kept quiet until after ST sales.

To be honest many of the people on here wouldn't have expected a top name manager if Corney hadn't of come out with the statement about how many top candidates were applying for the job and how he was going to wait for the summer to appoint the right one. He painted a nice picture for the fans and then served us up more disappointment! I'd love to hear his reasoning for not announcing Kelly's appointment at half time on Sunday.

well put 20joe, I knew dowie was a long shot but corny spouting off all them other names for the job, then paying rosler to sit in the stand with a pen and paper(haha) knowing for weeks this guy an Holden had the job! It's not the new guys fault, like he said if you don't ask you don't get,but even he must be pissing his sides at getting the job!! It's just all this biging up the new stand, getting a new buzz round the place, season ticket got, then back to normality with this appointment!! Time will tell but for once last Wednesday I thought season tickets would be on the up, what a difference a week makes in the life of a Oldham fan!!
