Who would you vote for in a player of the season poll without Clarke or Ripley? It's a tough one! My dad says "George Green. Sorry, Paul Green", which surprised me for some reason. The George Green part didn't surprise me, he's been calling Paul that all season. ;)

Are clean sheets an officially tracked stat? I know in the NHL, even if a 2nd goalie comes on for 10 seconds, neither gets the credit for a "shutout". I'd like to think with fans staying behind to clap the players, he'll get special recognition then. Of course, with such uninspiring seasons, you don't get that many staying behind these days.

Ripley has retweeted a goalie coach saying his kids session next week will be free if Ripley matches the clean sheet record tomorrow... he'll be playing.

A lot of angst from their fans today once it started going against them. Best bet on Tuesday is to keep it tight against them and go in at half time with a clean sheet. They'll probably have Madine back though and he makes them tick.

Actually, all the other games were originally scheduled for Saturday. Everyone else decided to move to Good Friday (or Thursday)....

At our level, we definitely should be taking a chance on the skillful players who are slighter on the physical side. If they develop suddenly, we have a player on our hands that would have otherwise been out of reach. Sometimes you end up with a Sugden, Wolfenden, Bove or Byrnes, sometimes a decent player like Winchester, maybe if we're lucky someone even better. On the other hand, Knight has quite a bit of physicality about him. It may not be a high level, but I bet he's come on loads playing against men for Ashton United for most of the season. He scored 2 in a 10-1 win at bottom club Skelmersdale last night.

There we go, a member of the groundstaff. He didn't want him to do it, but he also found it funny. And so it goes.

Played well second half Saturday, some clever play. Was involved in the game a lot more after not being so much in the first half. Could say the same for most of our attacking players.
