Couldn't go today due to work commitments but I genuinely can't remember the last time I felt so confident of a home win. Even with only a few minutes to go, I was expecting a winner. I think we've already shown that we have more than enough to be well well clear of the bottom, despite the fears of many fans a month ago. We now have to see if we can carry on against some of the bigger sides. Over 4000 home fans too in what is a pretty uninspiring fixture is a positive sign too.

Correct. I'd argue that our defence is as strong as any in this division. Taylor has a solid career in league one, as has Clarke who has been one of the better defenders in that division for some years. A young apprentice like George has the perfect boss in Clarke. We know what Hunt is capable of. If we could get Fane and Byrne in this team then we are in with a terrific shout of promotion. As I've said before we ain't even played well yet and we're in 8th. Granted we've had an easyish start but for me the fact that we havent outplayed these teams teams says it all. We simply have more quality. With a few tweaks, I think we will be right up there.

Still a lot to work on but the main thing is that we are picking up results despite not playing well. Defence is looking better with Clarke back and Andy Taylor looks like he could be a very solid player for this level. I still think we miss a little bit of creativity and it's a shame we couldn't get the cotterill deal over the line. Hopefully a fully fit Baxter can bring that. We're still a work in progress but I feel much more positive than I did a month ago.

Saw Kean Bryan in the bookies in Ashton last night. Asked him about Abdullah, he was pretty tight lipped but said he doesn't think Al as bad as being made out but said he is basically a bit of a spoon.

Luke didn't really do much wrong. The fan in question made it out that the club was at fault and Luke just told him that it's actually based on his history. I wouldn't call him sort by any means as we don't know his mental state, however if it was me, I'd have laughed it off.

I've been a bit gloomy since the relegation but I can honestly say I'm absolutely buzzing that Jose is back. We have been served up some shite over the years so when Jose came in and showed us that class which had seen him hailed as a young Rooney, he won all our hearts. It's crazy to think he was only here for less than a year with the impact he had on the fans. I was heartbroken when he left us for Sheff Utd. I am a big Wellens out advocate but I must say fair play to him and Lemsagam for getting this over the line. It's been a bad month, but this Is a massive step in the right direction. That was truly dreadful. This team is arguably one of the strongest teams I've seen at latics in the last few years but you wouldn't think so with the last two performances. Portsmouth didn't get out of second gear and they didn't need to. There was no drive, no cutting edge, too many sideways passes. Nazon did more in his cameo than any other player did in the rest of the game. Theres a strong possibility that we will be bottom four again when we go to Wigan. I hope that psychologically doesn't kill us off. Improvements needed.

I sincerely hope not. Fantastic player and may have all the contacts in the world but comes across dull and not the kind of person to inspire a team.
