  1. He was an impressive man and that final blog post was amazing and seriously moving. He has got us thinking more deeply about life, and that doesn't happen very often on OWTB. As many others have said, condolences to his family - it's a very sad loss. RIP sir, you are missed by many.
  2. Yes, a great character and a good goalkeeper too, I'm very pleased to see him back. Hopefully we will gain from Andy on team spirit and positive mental approach as well as on solid technique / organisation for goalkeeping and defending. I thought he was really unlucky with the goal in that Wembley match, IIRC he made a good one-on-one save and the rebound dropped straight back at the feet of the striker.
  3. I should think that they will want to get the Settlement Agreement signed before they comment on this one.
  4. He's down on the website as reporting to the manager, some bloke called Richie Wellens.
  5. Good luck with that sir! I hope it goes well.
  6. Thank you. That was a bloody good effort! It made me laugh, which doesn't happen as much as I'd like. I've used up all my voting credits for the day, but you have my admiration.
  7. I liked that so much that I looked right past the Oxford comma to vote it up!
  8. That's a bit harsh Dave. He clearly means big, proven, currently unemployed, desperate and affordable.
  9. The Merge-o-matic machine is a patented device designed to consolidate all of RW's selections into one consistent, coherent team with balance, understanding and cohesion across and between defence, midfield and attack. Under current knowledge it is not possible to build a working Merge-o-matic machine, although some academics believe that the design can, in theory, be made to work.
  10. "Looking at it that way, it could have legs, this." I hope so, we need more pace in the team.
  11. "we played almost three games a week!" Translation: " we played 2 games a week! Apart from when I was banned! Zoot alors!" "I played eleven games, and despite two red cards, it happened as I wanted it." Translation: "I really fucked up. I gave away a penalty for smacking a guy in the last minute and he didn't even have the ball! It cost 2 points and led to our relegation. Anyway, that's in the past...waiter, more Pernod please, these bottles are all empty."
  12. I love this new word: it's like a combination of "timescales" and "obstacles". It's just beautiful. "I'm sorry Jones, but due to the significant timesacles that we are facing, your training programme has had to be set back 10 years. Oh, by the way, your position is redundant. There's the door, bye bye."
  13. And Willie Donachie, who was inexperienced as a coach / assistant but very successful.
  14. There were dozens of schoolboy errors made last season, some with big repercussions and some with smaller ones. In the end, all of these seem to have been critical, in the sense that one less bullet in our own foot would have been enough for us to limp over the line (e.g. the last minute penalty by Moimbe when he wasn't even near the ball). However, in all of this, Paul F'in Jewell deserves a special mention - to accept the job and then bail out so quickly was a really shit move, and it seemed to damage performance. It can't have helped with morale and stability when Wellens et al were struggling as it is in a turbulent environment. And he has history as well, having apparently done the same thing at WBA 3 years earlier (he only lasted one week there, according to Wikipedia). What a total twat.
  15. Correct. It would be lovely if everyone gave him a chance. Sad to hear that he's had some direct messages already that were probably rather unpleasant. This club is a mess and needs to be sorted out - Abdallah has taken on the job and deserves our support.
  16. You were correct. Hopefully we'll be back. Have a good summer!
  17. Yes, and Saturday will be the team's time to win a bloody game! We hope...
  18. Bastards. No excuse for that. Surely they could have found a Zizzi in Hertfordshire?
