The defence.
Londonboy replied to League one forever's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
I've said it all along that Maouche is not solid enough defensively against the so called better sides in the league and its no coincidence that that in our last 3 games against play off contenders we have conceded 11 goals. Not saying its all down to him, as the defence has had little support from anyone at Carlisle, and to be fair he has done some nice things going forward, but when the going gets tough he's not the man for the job and is too much of a shit house. I'd play Lyden against Vale to tighten up, and maybe bring Maouche back for County where he can get us going forward. -
Why are we shit during Christmas!

Rightly or wrongly I think AL will sack him if we lose at Vale and replace him with Clarke. Yesterday was one of the worse days I've had in over 40 years supporting the club and at the end of the day the book stops with Bunn. Pros... Maybe a new approach, a few quid for the new manager to strengthen the squad in Jan and a big FA cup tie to look forward to may galvanise us for a 2 H playoff push Against....the current squad and game strategy is obviously nor good enough, hence the crap results against sides above us, is Clarke good enough or a big enough change to make a difference, and will there be any money in Jan? To be honest I'm not that bothered either way after yesterday's fucking shambles. Will be reluctantly be going to Vale but can't be arsed to drive up for the Notts County game which is a sorry state of affairs. -

Looking forward to our games this festive period but suddenly realised I couldn't remember when we last actually won a game over the Xmas and New year games. Anyways I quickly checked (very quickly so could be wrong) and I recon it was New Years eve 2011 when we won 3 2 at Notts County!! Any thoughts on why we have such a dismal record? Good time to change it this year I think -

Why is everything with our club so fucking difficult these days!! Website shouldn't crash with a few hundred people trying to access it. So you call the ticket office, get told to press 1 to speak to someone... when it's not engaged.... Then get the message option 1 is currently unavailable! Fuck me if we ever do have any success then God help us. #anothershambles -
Crewe Alexandra (A)
Londonboy replied to LaticMark's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
I know he's not that sort of player...that's sort of my point. If we start as at Crewe, with a midfield 4 of Lang, Missilou, Maouche and Nepo, and Maouche isn't up for this one, we will struggle. Bury at the moment are a completely different kettle of fish than Cambridge or Crewe, and they will likely rough him up early on and target him. I'd start Lyden and Missilou as a middle 2 v Bury and bring on Maouche if we need him. -

I've never been his biggest fan, and agree that he can't afford go missing against Bury. He needs to show he's up for the fight. My main reservations about him have always been whether he can hack it when the going gets tough, and put his foot in where it hurts if necessary. Bury are the divisions leading scorers by some way and unless he gets stuck-in Bury could overrun us. I'd love it if he has a stormer and proves the doubters ...including myself wrong. Lets wait and see. -

Run up to Christmas...

Love it! Our 7 wins are against teams placed 24, 22, 21, 19, 18, 17 and 16th. I wonder if we could actually reach the playoffs without actually beating any of the top 10 teams.... Then dick em and get promoted!! -

Christ when you position the table like that Singe it really does show where we are....Crawley are our "biggest scalp" FFS so far this season and they are now 14th!! But on the positive side...we are shit hot against the 17th placed team and below!! -

Maidstone (A)

Very poor from Bunn...missed opportunity for some great PR -
Let's be honest we have a small group of dickhead fans...and we know who they are.... who are responsible for the rest of us getting tarred with the same brush. Don't get me wrong I'm not defending in any way, the way these things are managed by the plod...just that whilst they are around we need to accept that we will all get treated as one. Guaranteed they will be there on Saturday giving it the big one.

Good win today in what seemed like a decent 2 half performance based on most people's comments. Next 6 weeks will define our season I think. We play 4 of the top 8 before Boxing Day plus away cup games at Maidstone and Dale. I'd take 9pts from 15 and a 3rd round fa cup tie at City! Let's hope Surridge stays fit and some confidence returns. And just maybe a good 3rd round cup tie will allow us to strengthen a bit in January and then who knows.

Has Maouche voted for himself???? -
I was there last night and a couple of points... 1. AL was NOT in the away end...probably for a good reason as he would have got some shit! He was sitting in the small stand next to the away fans with his brother and a few others, and was beaming like a Cheshire cat at the end of the game. Without the late winner I doubt he would have showed his face! 2. Before his moment of brilliance for the goal, Gardner was absolutely bloody dreadful and was getting lamented by most of the fans around me. I'd play him wider or further forward as the times he gives the ball away in his own half when playing deep and causes us problems is just unacceptable. 3. Fans were brilliant again in the circumstances and kept going right to the end. Atmosphere was excellent 4. Bunns substitution of Miller left everyone I saw gobsmacked! Yes OG won the header for the winner but why would you bring off your most dangerous player when you are 1-0 down - sorry but baffling! 5. Maouche is still a fraud of a player who will not put his foot in or break sweat for the team!

Freddie Lapodo voted league 1 player of the month for October scoring 6 goals in a struggling Plymouth side... Another one that maybe got away...
