leeslover
"There are a lot of our players who need to look in the mirror tonight". OR Are they just not that good? Good enough to push for number one side for several years. And this is a poor Convict side
Stevie_J
I assume they took the new ball shortly before those wickets fell? I had a feeling that might happen.

Monty Burns
this is a poor Convict side Actually annoying me this now. Clearly they arent great like they were, but that doesnt instantly make them poor. If this Aussie team is 'poor' then we must be poor based on how even it has been. The typical English response at the moment seems to be 'well I havent heard of him so he cant be any good.'
Monty Burns
Nah, should get a full five days play. I reckon we'll see a result. Bresnan's in for Finn. England have won the toss and will bat. Must admit I was fearing for a bore high score draw as the afternoon/ evening wore on. Ive got Smith as my 12th man in fantasy ashes, I nearly moved him in after he was smashing it about in the first test but didnt. very impresseive spell yesterday, unfair to say 'he bowls some tosh ocassionally' so does everybody or nobody would ever score! beag_teeets
For where we were this time yesterday I'm happyish with that. If you'd offered that me yesterday I would have been annoyed.

Yeah, I had 350 in my head as the lower end of reasonable, yesterday afternoon. It's looking well poised again.

Only Clarke from the current lot gets in their 2005 team, although i will grant you that's a tough comparison

dave_ragg1984
Is that because he was in the team in 2005? -
dave_ragg1984
Maybe the Aussies should flip the batting line up. That's 3 pretty dismal failures in a row for their top and middle order.
opinions4u
Follow on! Follow on! I doubt we'd enforce it if we had the choice. Bat 'em out of it and spin 'em out.
Stevie_J
I doubt we'd enforce it if we had the choice. Bat 'em out of it and spin 'em out. You should always enforce the follow-on, in my opinion.
Zorrro
Maybe not, but it's the psychology of it all. If they find themselves skittled for something ridiculous like 120 I'd enforce it if I were Cook.
opinions4u
If this wicket is truly a flat batters paradise (there is some evidence to the contrary, but the experts suggest these are two low scores) you don't want the Aussies batting day 3 on it. Zorrro
I wouldn't be able to resist the potential of an innings victory though. Imagine. Just imagine.
