HarryBosch
Were you or anybody you know one of the people involved in these "discussions with fans" about making our traditional home end the away end? Please ask around at the match today. I suspect, on top of everything else, the club are taking the piss with such a statement. I'll be doing :censored: all with the information, or lack of, but I'm curious. I'm hoping I'm wrong.....

archiecat
It will be the same fans who were consulted about bringing Ched to the club.
gbium
Went in the chaddy a couple of times this year which was my first time in there for nearly 10 years. One of the games, Preston I think, there were a couple of dudes walking round with a clipboard speaking to a few peeps - didn't come to us though,
melia
People need to get a grip and come off the Autistic Spectrum - things change!!! Slavery was once the norm and that was abolished.... Just like the Chaddy being the home section for many years. Whether you like it or disagree with it the club have made a decision and they are not obliged to discuss it with anyone if they wish not too. Have faith

Senor_Coconut
You know a simple way to have consulted the fans would be for the turnstyle operator to ask "would you be willing to relocate to the RRE next season" with a tick box because Chaddy enders are the only ones who need to be consulted
Hands on
The problem I have with this is that it does make good sense. It could be they licked their finger and stuck it in the air. It could be they did speak to some people. They didn't ask everyone but then as it is a sensible thing to do creating a family area and not having to ask anyone to move again and giving the away fans the worse facilities and so on. Why not try the OEC next season, Chaddy End, where you can shout at those nasty deprived away supporters.

Mustnt have given them the answers they wanted, so theyve taken this half arsed approach to manipulate the stats in their favour

HarryBosch
If it's about atmosphere, or lack of, (yet again) bigger crowds watching better football would be a far better solution than aggravating some of our loyalest supporters..... Macca
The move does make sense. No messing around fans. How many would be against the move? How many won't go again? We need all the fans we can get but if it's a small figure then it should be fine.
LaticsPete
Consultation isn't the same thing as decision making It's testing the strength of opinion not a binding referendum. Yes there are people opposed to it but, unless there was clear evidence that they would never attend again and that there wre lots of them, then I can't see why the club shouldn't. Make this decision. I understand how some people feel - but many also feel it's the right thing to do or aren't bothered either way.
grahamb
there was an opinion poll on os a while back (see other thread for details ) some of us read it and gave our opinions , so yes good decision anyway , get fans together in better stands
Oh Heck C-Beck
I filled in a questionnaire and mentioned making the RRE the home end so I guess we were consulted.

We are desperately short of them. I will still go next season, but I will not attend nearly as many games. I haven't missed any home games this season, but next season I will only be attending about 10 at a rough guess.

kitten
Having been in the Chaddy end today, I know there are quite a lot not buying a ST and picking and choosing games. Dangerous.
Macca
Hopefully that won't be the case. Hopefully you'll still have the bug to go to the game as you all support OAFC and not the Chaddy End.

Now we are finally on the verge of getting back to 4 stands, something has to give. If its not the Chaddy, its the RRE. Its what the fan base as a whole want. I remember back in the early 2000s and before when only the small section of the RRE was utilised. In reflection, that was a disgrace. The RRE is clearly the best superior stand and it wasn't being used properly...
