I love gossip but it does make me chuckle when posters post a rumour with so much detail for authenticity. Either their sources as so shocking or they have too much time on their hands. Only thing I can add is a certain Mr D has not been interviewed nor had the role discussed with him. Wages, budget and plans have always been a major issue and in his mind will always be. With the delays /lack of commitment to a decision, it does have the feel of a job term stint, in which case persuading decent players to join, when they know another coach will be coming in, may be difficult.
