deyres42
Waddle for Bradford vs us in '97, one of the best individual performances I've seen in the flesh. Close to becoming our manager after Ritchie too I believe.
NewBlue
Waddle for Bradford vs us in '97, one of the best individual performances I've seen in the flesh. Close to becoming our manager after Ritchie too I believe. Not old enough to ever see him play during his career, so only going off videos it seems amazing a player can have such success repeating a skill so often - shoulder-drop. He's the sort of player I wish still existed. How rare to find one who actually looks to take somebody on these days. This team is a perfect example of the fear that footballers have instilled into them.
leeslover
Didn't Waddle almost score from 40 yards on the turn in the All Stars game?
24hoursfromtulsehill
Waddle's clearly better than all of those people put together but I'll vote Rick. Surprised Leeslover didn't mention Giggs. Did you ever pay me that tenner? What about the Rooney / Owen one? Or was it two?
24hoursfromtulsehill
Holden currently out in front with 35% of the vote.

deyres42
Julian Dicks could :censored: a ball, and most other things as well.
Latic76
IMO Ricky was a similar type of wide player to Beckham, didn't need to take on his man, just put the ball at an angel and whip it round him...amazing. My Oldham hero! Best crosser of the ball we've ever had in my generation......????

My Oldham hero! Best crosser of the ball we've ever had in my generation...... But Ricky could beat his man, unlike Beckham.

deyres42
Will Barnesy throw the race card in if he doesn't win...?
24hoursfromtulsehill
Barnes is winning no? (look up rather than down) You're right. Barnes is winning with 35%. If it's not Waddle, it's an absolute travesty.
lookersstandandy
Julian Dicks could :censored: a ball, and most other things as well. ...including Ian Olney.... in effect, ending his career.....
HarryBosch
You're right. Barnes is winning with 35%. If it's not Waddle, it's an absolute travesty. Waddle was undoubtedly a better player but did he have a better left foot? Which is what this is about...

Flemboy
They best left foot I saw was Alan Groves, the ball seemed attached to it with string. Worth paying entrance money just to see his skills alone.First saw him when he played for Shrewsbury? and wished then he would play for us. ghostofcecere
But Ricky could beat his man, unlike Beckham. And quite often three or four times to take the piss before putting the killer cross in!
thetramfixer
to add, Tricky has a couple of books out, imho the 1st one is a bit of a moan at the establishment, but his 'best latics matches/goals'(?) one is well worth a read!

lookersstandandy
I didn't rate him when he came back ....he wasn't as good as he was before he left..... but the Rick Holden that returned is still a much better player than anyone whose graced our left flank since David Eyres.....
