I wonder what it really is.  Notable that for Saturday games since Shez's return every one has been lower than the previous one.  Hardly surprising that hope ebbed away and I'm certainly not taking the moral high ground but unless we hit the ground running next season, and let's face it - that takes some imagination from here, I can't really imagine more than a couple of thousand being there.

Not saying I believe the official attendance figures by any means, but they're all we've got to go on and for the six Saturday home games we averaged 6692, well up on the overall season average. That figure is inflated by the Rochdale derby and by games v neighbours like Bradford and Carlisle, admittedly but IF we are challenging next season and IF we have new and well-received owners - two massive IFs, I know - I don't see why we can't get the >5k gates that Shez has pulled in.

We lost 6 games on the bounce….the Shez effect was bound to wear off!!

Well exactly - that's my point.  There is a latent fanbase but if we are bouncing down the bottom of the NL next season it ain't coming back

Nobody is coming back under this regime. Massive away followings. 900 at home.

We could have a bright future under new ownership. There is great potential there for investment and the price should have dropped markedly.

The big question is will the ‘Lemmies’ sell….we have zero future under the current ownership and they have to realise that now, surely!!

Interestingly Southends average is around 6k and they are a mid Conference side at best this year.

It's amazing what some fan unity and hope for the future can bring irrespective of league position or results.

I think we will get 5k plus at home homes as long as we have new owners in place.

We are a resilient lot as shown by the last third of the season.

Agree. With the caveat that the hypothetical new owner mistrusts and dislikes bazza.

Owning a club and never attending any matches, that shows he's shame faced.

Covid affected the season before?

I'm sure Wrexham and Stockport didn't get the kinds of crowds they're getting now when they were in the league.

New owners and a manager we can all get behind, maybe the gates won't drop significantly..

Huge away followings for that level are skewing home attendances slightly

They are wining and scoring lots of goals and have hope, that draws the fans in.
