  1. SUPER GAZ MCDONALD! good luck at Aberdeen Gary!
  2. Couldnt care less who wins it to be fair. I reckon Germany will be one to watch, as its a tournament and not too far from home for them. I really dont want Portugal to win it as they are one of the biggest sets of cheats going. I think it will be a great tournament, unfortunate that England arent there but at least we cant be blamed for dragging the standard down this time.
  3. I think you are wrong, theres loads of them! The only thing is, they all have very low paid jobs, so cant see them paying £20 to come to a footy game.
  4. but to be fair, how long have you lived in Bristol? The majority of Latics fans live in Oldham and have to put up with living in a town full of them red *****. They aint a rival to us? They (and city) pretty much steal most of our (and other local clubs- rochdale, stockport, bury) support meaning we are constantly in a stuggle to survive and gain new fans. I cant stand anything about that club business. Who cares if they play good football. They are at the forefront of everything that is bad about football. I know Chelsea and Liverpool are not different, but at least if they win it it will p**s united fans off. ABU!
  5. Man Utd or Man City - Lesser of two evils Liverpool or Everton - I dont mind Liverpool as they hate Man U, just prefer Everton. Arsenal or Tottenham - I really like the way they play. And they hate Man U. Southampton or Portsmouth - neither Newcastle or Sunderland - Basically because Roy Keane s Sunderlands manager. Rangers or Celtic - neither. monkey tennis. Real Madrid or Barcelona - prob say Barca Ajax vs Feyenoord - never thought about it AC Milan or Juventus - Paolo Maldini is a legend. Bristol Rovers or Bristol City - not bothered Boca or River Plate - neither Dortmund or Schalke - I like the fact that they have a stand which holds 25000 people. And that they get 70,000 every week, even if they arent doing well.
  6. But Trent Bridge only has 15,000 seats. The Oval is a quality ground, and you cant have a series without a Lords test, its just not cricket.
  7. Yep, they announced that early last summer. Sofia Gardens only holds 15,000, which IMO is not big enough for an Ashes test. Fair enough, let them hold a test as it is the England and Wales Cricket team, but not an Ashes test. The Ashes should be played at the 5 biggest grounds- Lords, The Oval, Edgbaston, Old Trafford and Headingly.
  8. They actually play in the FAW Premier Cup which is different to the FAW cup. The FAW Cup is the Welsh FA Cup which offers a place in Europe, whilst the FAW Premier Cup is an invitational cup including Wrexham, Swansea and Cardiff, and no Uefa place.
  9. I do struggle to understand how beating anyone, no matter what the circumstances in this shower of s***e that is a league, can be classed as better than going to one of the best teams in the country and turning them over. Leeds was brilliant, absolutely amazing, but was topped by Everton. The worst? I dont know, there have been some pretty bad ones! Hartlepool at home was pretty bad, didnt go to the away game so cant comment. I did feel particularly awful after dirty Leeds scored in what seemed like the hundredth minute of injury time though.
  10. PGR4 is my XBOX Live game of choice, even though i am ridiculously poor at it.
  11. Surely this is not his "opinion" and just what he is saying he has been told?
  12. Spot on, great post. Should really be its own thread methinks.
  13. yes, they are ACE! I bought one last week and wow.
  14. didnt Bradford say if 10,000 people sign up, then tickets are £150. If not then they are normal price. As a result they got 12,000 i think.
  15. quite possibly the worst football ground in England.
  16. If Oldham Athletic did not exist then I think football would probably cease to exist in my eyes.
  17. I think you need to be over 35, but you can be younger if injury has forced you to retire early. Eyresy has got to play.
  18. So you have put Mark Allott higher than a player who is clearly a class above ;)
  19. Actually i thought my last statement showed the opposite. Whilst I agree that he is very good, I still havent forgiven him for what he has done. I think the team are missing him, does that not show that I think he is a very good player????? "Porter and Beckett, never, ever, got anywhere near to contributing as much to a team performance as what hughesy did during those games... it stunned me, it genuinely did - I couldn't belive we had this player in our team... never, ever did Porter or beckett leave me feeling like that... Porter is a goalscorer, thats it... beckett is closer to him but the class of Hughes puts him in a different bracket, and hence why hughes has played at the highest level..."- Balls. Chris Porter is the best striker Oldham Athletic have had since the premier league. 23 goals, and his alround play was brilliant last season. I dont think I will forgive him for how he left, but I can see that he is the best striker we have has since we were relegated from the top division. He was so much more than just a goalscorer. He lead the line brilliantly and when he didnty play last season we looked nowhere near as good. "And again... I'm not bloomin comparing him to eyresy... but I can say, to a man, the whole crowd (or following) has chanted Hughesy's name at certain games this season... making him, as I have said, the only player that really unites everyone in a game - he gives everything and people respect that... and I bet people who knock him on here join in too at matches... go on admit it... " Balls again. Ive not chanted his name. I ve celebrated his goals, but he has not yet earnt it for me to chant his name. And you were comparing him to Eyres when you said words to the effect of "no player in recent memory has united the fans like lee hughes", as quite simply, David Eyres is in recent memory. It does seen that you have already decided Lee Hughes is your hero. I dont understand why, but at least you are happy with it. Hopefully next season we will not have an injury prone Lee Hughes and he will bag the 30+ goals that people seem to think is a certain. Until then, he is behind Porter and Beckett as our best striker in the last ten years, and slightly above Clyde Wijnhard.
