Their season has started again today, so it’ll probably do him better carrying on there with actual competitive games than coming back here for friendlies. He’s 22 and has never played consistently for any club, so the playing time will do him the world of good, so that when he does come back, he’ll be full of confidence. He might be good enough to start for us, but we don’t know and I didn’t expect Bunn to take that chance, he’ll bring in new strikers, and Duffus is better off gaining more experience elsewhere, than dusting our bench, and when he does come back in November we may be getting a much player back than what we sent.

I hope he does. He’s pretty good. Would be a quality full back in League Two. I know now the temptation is there to bin off some of the underperformers, but I think the likes of Davies, Moimbe, Fane, Dummigan and even Gerrard and Clarke would be favourable players in League Two. The option of replacing them with bog standard League Two players is a mistake I fear we shouldn’t make.

Anything above not doing a Chesterfield or a Tranmere can be considered a success next season. We can forget about play offs or promotion. It's a massive ask given the state of the club. Let's just try and consolidate ourselves in League Two and try and build a squad capable of competing over the next few seasons.

It's not an appointment that inspires belief. I wish Bunn all the best. I'd hoped for a stable pre-season, but another year, another upheaval and yet again one of the main factors why we're not progressing as a club. How many managers is that now since LJ left a few seasons back? Not sure how the club expect to build anything.
