  1. FC United of Manchester have the blueprint but I can't see OAFC going out of business. An administration or two looks likely but you would still end up with a club to support outside the football league playing who knows where as houses populate Boundary Park.
  2. Time for him to get someone from his own, I mean his relative's, stable just so he can see how difficult it is. French speaking, lentement lentement, manager who brings in more of the foreign legion with him.
  3. Perhaps the administrator is surplus to requirements because there is now no money for players in January. I wonder how many of the people who subscribe to the notion that you can buy a football club but should not get involved would actually do the same. We know from the turnover of staff etc that Bunn has not been working in a stable environment but when you say played 24, won 8, drawn 8 and lost 8 for a rookie manager that ain't bad. It appears our slowly slowly owner has a rather short fuse.
  4. We just don't know what has gone on. Surprised to see Frankie here for so long with AL in charge. Anyone who thinks the timing is good because there is money to spend in the transfer window is deluded. The only good thing is that it does demonstrate that AL wants to do better than mid table. PS Pete who?
  5. I'm not in favour of sacking Bunn. If there is money for that then it should be used on adding a player or two. Thought I would bite the bullet and subscribe to iFollow just to see what the man had to say but even after changing password it just doesn't like me. Ah well will have to wait for the misspelled summary.
  6. Bunn is an inexperienced manager which means well he lacks experience. He got a shez load of experience from Carlisle - well beaten home and away by a team we should be able to compete with. If I owned this football club I couldn't have trusted myself to have a word with the team after being thrashed SIX nil. We are just making up the numbers when we should be doing better.
  7. LIverpool trained Christmas morning and it didn't do them any harm. Wonder if they have their eyes on the Fulham game.
  8. Bunn outfoxed twice by a better manager who knew how to set up his team. We looked ok going forward but once we got there nothing and when they attacked just like a hot knife through butter. Still think we can make the top 7 as we are top half at Christmas however lose the next two and it will be a case of looking over our shoulder as Macclesfield catch up and pass us.
  9. The main problem over more tickets is that the away end part of the stand holds what we already have and it might not be easy to give us part of the rest and surely we can't fill it all. I shouldn't think home supporters will be in a hurry to buy. I wonder if home fans get pay on the day. No doubt we are on the Sunday because Chelsea were expected to beat Bournemouth and play in the efl cup the following mid week so they got Saturday. Looks like an epic day out and if we can continue our current form and get a result.............
  10. A good day improved by the Chelsea and Liverpool results on Sunday. Kusunga scored an own goal and we are all, well nearly all, getting a little excited. Top 12 at Christmas and we will finish top 7. Top 7 at Christmas and we can get a lot excited. Took a Liverpool and an Arsenal supporter who thought the first half was top drawer pressing. Maouche doesn't appear any bigger but is a lot stronger and he and Missile are making the midfield their own. I don't blame Rhodes for past performances, I just think Bunn is making the transition to a manager and has created a team spirit that was so lacking at the end of last season. Sadly for the energetic Dan his absence has been a plus because he is no longer pulling the team out of shape and then giving the ball away.
  11. I was wondering how to charge up my Oyster card so I could travel cheaply in the Capital only to find that you can now use contactless payment cards (your credit and debit cards with that symbol on). The maximum charge for a bus ride with contactless payment is £1.50. There is also a maximum charge for any number of journeys on the same day of, I think, £4.50 but remember to use the same card all day long. Similar thing on the tube with a maximum in zones 1&2 of, I think, £6.80 for all your journeys on the same day remembering to use the same card all day long and to swipe both in and out. I think the maximum if you use both buses and tube is £6.80. These are 2018 numbers so I don't know if 2019 is the same. Finally you need to keep any other contactless cards you have away from the reader as it could read the wrong card. Corrections from any southern fans welcome. PS As an old geezer I can use my bus pass but I prefer the tube.
  12. The weather forecasters got so excited yesterday with their warnings of snow and freezing rain. This morning it was still freezing rain that caught there attention. They ought to get out more. Last night started with a frost which by this morning has gone. The frozen ground upon which said rain is going to freeze isn't frozen. Felt warmer walking the dog this morning than yesterday.
  13. The skilful young footballer gets another chance at high flying Killy and spends his time making up the numbers on the bench. Lets hope Shamrock only have 11 players!
  14. Well I can see you are all as excited about this one as I am. Looks like a draw but I can't help thinking we might kick start their season again as in a competition between managers they are way in front and we will play either COG or Miller up front rather than Lang.
  15. We have seen Lang and Surridge together but I forget when it was. The point I think is that if we play them up front different tactics ie passing the ball rather than lumping it upfield will have to be used. The teams in this poor division just love it when you play long ball.
  16. It rather looks like he took on our club for the right reasons. It rather looks like too much money was spent last year. It rather looks like he trusted SC and now understands that his trust was misplaced. I suspect he is having to put £200k per month into the club because all the season ticket money for this year went as soon as we paid it over. As I have suggested before he has difficulty bringing money into the UK because of all the money laundering etc restrictions and proof of origin which would explain the late payments which were already a feature of this club under SC. He has said more to us than SC did in his 14 years. Slowly slowly it is then.
  17. Well an interesting game from the Gardener perspective. His greatest fault shown was how he pulls the team out of shape. I’m no fan of Maouche but when he came on he played in position and although he looks lazy, as does Lyndon, in comparison to Dynamic Dan the team had a better shape and we played better. Dan did take the corner for George to score but he needs more discipline or you could put him out wide.
  18. As per BBC fixtures Solihull Moors v Blackpool Friday 30th, nothing Sunday, Guiseley v Fleetwood Town Monday 3rd and everyone else on Saturday with us at 15.00.
  19. What price for Maidstone, even further away, for the Monday as I can do Friday, Saturday or Sunday?
  20. Well when will he learn. Team sheet could have been three at the back but no Dummy wide right and Lang wide left. Nearly a game stolen from us by the ref but finally Gardner did what I think he would do best for us and Lang was played where he should be. Maidstone is a great draw and a must for me as I was brought up a few miles down the road but it will be on the telly so fingers crossed it isn't Monday night.
  21. Bear in mind that Saddleworth Rangers lost their first seven games and after a change of manager have been promoted via the playoffs. All is not lost.
  22. It is a malicious slur to suggest Fane can't shoot. He can and he did it is just that he can't shoot on target - a bit like some of his passes. However he would make a difference in this headless chicken division because our problem is the failure of the midfield to provide cover for the back four and in particular our fullbacks.
  23. Me thinks it is the owner that is the problem. He isn’t going to give any manager the space to put this right. We might survive the drop but we are in for another torrid time whoever is in charge. The only answer is a change of ownership
  24. Is it a little stupid to say losing 3 2 away from home is not the worst possible result upon which we should call for Bunn to be sacked.
  25. I was watching Bunn because before the match I was accosted by someone in the pub before the cup game who sits behind him. He said that he stands their staring into space whilst Andy used to watch what was going on. He cited the stupid foul by Clarke against Port Vale as an example because of a delayed reaction from Bunn as if he was just following what Andy was doing. So what would he do with no Andy and in particular what did he do whilst the under 21 side gave us a lesson in football the first half. Well the truth is not much. I don't think he is just staring into space I just think he is one of those people whose head tilts backwards (he is pulling down but that is another matter) but I do think when your team is performing so badly a little bit of animation is called for otherwise one might think he can't be bothered.
