Megson til the end of the season would be my vote. I can't see him wanting it, but he'd be best qualified to keep us up.

Otherwise - I honestly can't see how without an injection of cash to bring players in how things will improve. regardless of who's in charge

So you think there is more chance of Phil Brown, Steve Cotterill and Billy Davies?

It's no dafter than the majority of names on your list pal

The list is Stevie J's suggestions. Probably best to get on his case rather than on mine.

I would've gone for Steve Cotterill but he's proved to have walked away from clubs quickly and we need a manager with some continuity so I went for Billy Davies just because he's a good manager, simple as.

We need an experienced, established manager, Davies fits the bill.

He's like an upgraded Dickov.

I can't stand Billy Davies but I'd have him here in a heartbeat.

Nick Barmby? Didn't do bad at Hull, ousted for speaking out about the owners and transfers, which Dickov seems to do weekly. Maybe has something to prove after Hull binned him, won plenty as a player so will have that winning mentality, don't think he'd cost a lot in wages considering he's only had 1 job before, will have links with Liverpool for loans (perhaps)

We'd never, ever get Billy Davies. If we could though - no brainer.

But I think we'd have a chance with Phil Brown.

He really swooned about us on the radio at Sheff United.

He's had a bit of time out and has done a bit of research/learning.

He has good contacts, especially in the north east.

You can never forget his achievements with Hull.

He's a motivator.

He's tangerine.

He's been on Tawk Spowt a few times telling Ronnie and Alan Brazil that he wants a club and a challanging project.

He's still trying to stop Mike Cecere from scoring against Leeds.

Woudl love to gloat about that but I have a recollection taht makes it inappropriate.

Seriously though, if we do get a new man in there are several types of alternatives:

Rookie

Out of work journeyman

Apparently unrealistic but you never know

Young manager who has had some success at a lowere level.

I don't know enough about Aspin to know if he specifically is a good option but as a generic type i wouldn't be averse to that category
