Stevie_J
9 out of 16 but only 1 spot on too. Runners up spots proving tricky. I need favourites to go through to the quarters! Does this table include the last 4 group games? I make my total to be 9 short which is what I think I scored in those games. You've gone from 96 to 132 - 9 points for last night's games and 27 for nine correct teams in the second round.
Stevie_J
FIFA need to take a good long look at themselves for banning Suarez. Agreed. I had Uruguay to make the semis. They've got no chance without the Zombie.

It's actually 3 points for second round teams, not 4 as originally stated. This spreadsheet's :censored: - I have no way of manually testing it by inputting a load of scores as it only runs off a data download. I'm making my own sheet next time. Stevie_J
Hmmmm.... so I've managed to predict 10 of the last 16 teams correctly.... however only 1 of the 8 tie's have I got spot on; Argentina v Switzerland. How about everyone else? Nine teams, one tie for me.
Stevie_J
Just to let everyone know, there may not be any further updates until after the Quarter Finals, as I'm off on holiday tomorrow. I'll see what I can do though.

24hoursfromtulsehill
Barring shocks, I'll have six out of eight in the quarter finals. Remind me. If a team is in the quarters in the incorrect position, playing a team I have not predicted to get there, do I get points? (This isn't a nosebleed. I'm just managing expectations.) World Cup Knock-out Stages Sweepstakes scoring Each correct team in the Second Round - 3 points Each correct team in the Second Round and Quarter Finals - 4 points Each correct team in the Semi Finals - 5 points Each Correct Team in the Finals - 6 points Correct Winner - 15 points The spreadsheet isn't as good as it might be, but was the best I could get hold of. It provides the scoring above. However, I am going to manually add the following: Results points for the Knockout Stages as per the Group Stages, for games where you have correctly predicted that the two teams involved will meet each other at that stage of the competition. For knockout games, the score predicted will count AET, if the game goes into extra-time. If you want to predict that a game will go to penalties, enter your scores as a decimal (i.e. 1.5-1.3 means 1-1 AET, team A wins 5-3 on penalties). 1 point to be awarded for correctly predicting that a team will win on penalties. 2 points to be awarded for correctly predicting the penalty shootout score. Golden Boot Winner - 20 points - Please state your prediction in your email, when you send me the spreadsheet. Only if you've predicted the two teams that will meet. i.e. if you have Brazil v Colombia you'll get the points, even if you predicted both teams would finish 2nd in their respective groups and win their 2nd round games. My reading is this: Team A beats team B 1.3 - 1.2. I've correctly predicted the scores, but incorrectly predicted team C to beat team B in the round of 16. This stuff matters now because things are going to get tight, especially if Les Bleus and Der Hun sort themselves out. No more try-hard answers please. I just want the answers that give me points and hope. Cheers.
