"When you are winning, you are seldom as good as you hope you are. And when you are losing, you are seldom as bad as you fear you are." Graham Tayor.

Basically paraphrasing Rudyard Kipling "If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster, and treat those two imposters just the same"

Our run of good results and performances had us feeling on a high, and some beliving that we were the best team and genuinely going to push for an automatic spot. A run of crap performances and results, although some of them in the cup which has lessened the impact on the league table, and some are now talking about scraping the points to avoid relegation.

The truth no doubt lies somewhere in between.

Sometimes an absolute hammering can be what a team needs to sit up and take notice. A win and a draw from the last 2 games would have been more than acceptable from most peoples point of view, and that would have seen us only 4 points better off in 5th and only 3 points from being out of the play-offs. Crewe, Barnsley and Doncaster are not totally daunting fixtures on paper - get a decent haul of points from those games and we will be talking about the play-offs again.

For inspiration look at Sunderland. Got spanked away from home in similar fashion - playing a team in good form and moving up the table at the time of the fixture. Since then thay have lost to Man City and Arsenal; drawn to Everton, Leicster, Chelsae, Liverpool and West Ham; and beaten Palace and Newcastle. Securing 11 points from 9 games. A pretty creditable set of results for a team of Sunderlands resources in the Premier League.

Apologies to WC;

We shall go on to the end. We shall fight away from home, we shall fight on in the mud and in the rain, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength on set plays and, we shall defend our SportsDirect.com stadium, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the pitch, we shall fight on the training ground, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills of Oldham; we shall never surrender.

Was J. Wilson as bad as the goals suggest? Just watched them and he is at fault for the last six...

He gave up and showed a side of himself ive never seen, watching from the stand some of his mannerisms off camera where shocking, he wasnt the only one Kenny and Elokobi where equally as bad which considering their pedigree was strange to see.

If this game and the last means he won't get a move in January I can just about live with them on the proviso we quickly return to a bit of form.

Hopefully they'll have had a greater good.

is that whats been decided on here? all the players suddenly hate LJ now?

how did that conclusion arise?

how about this? YOU DONT HAVE TO LIKE YOUR BOSS TO DO YOUR JOB!

lets hope this board produces less over reactions and bull :censored: in the new year and that Connor Brown stays where he is.

Nothing sudden about it - it's just escalated during a bad run and some baffling comments and behaviour by LJ.

Has anyone at the club mentioned a fall out between the team and LJ or is it something that has appeared on here.

General rule of thumb on OWTBs theories; 2 + 2 = bull :censored:!

Re James Wilson. I think LJ thinks he always had that aspect to his game, but it's pretty much been non-existent since he came to us:

LJ: "He had fundamental flaws in his game when he first arrived and was quite a petulant individual. But he has matured since then and has put in a lot of hard work to realise his potential."

Interesting read that article.

So: by Palmer's OWTB logic, i'm going to go 2 + 2 = James Wilson is a bit of prick.
