What constitutes success?

Recommended Posts

I have endless arguments with my brother about what constitutes success for Latics.

He says he will happy if we stay up this season and success would be finishing higher than for last 6 years ie 14th.( I think that is only one step up from being pleased to fulfill our fixtures)

I have said success would be to score 60 goals , get 60 points and increase home support numbers by 5%

What does the panel think ?

Dictionary definition;

'The favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one's goals'.

From where we are now, avoiding relegation would be a success for this season.

Generally, season to season, I would view signs of progress on and off the field as success, even if it's only small steps at a time.

I endorse this opinion and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Surviving while playing attacking, attractive football using a mix of our own youth and a few shrewd, experienced signings - and progressing far enough in the FA Cup to get a big draw.

Actually, Ritchie's first year in charge is probably now what we should be aiming for. Jeez...

Enjoying the match day experience is what we're about. Let's be honest, the Championship is incredibly competitive.

We're talking clubs with much bigger gates and resources than the old Division Two.

For us, we should expect good football in comfortable surroundings. It also means competing in your home games.
