Chester FC. Deva Stadium, Bumper's Lane, Sealand Industrial Estate, Chester CH1 4LT

Official guide for away fans:

https://www.chesterfc.com/tickets/visiting-fans/

If arriving by train, leave the station by the main exit opposite the Town Crier, and turn right into Station Road. Head between the Egerton Arms and the Railway Inn, and at the end of the street enter the underpass. In the underpass look for the first exit and then steps signed for Frodsham Street. Head towards the Oddfellows Arms but just before the bridge turn right into Gorse Stacks. When reaching the crossroads by the Bull & Stirrup go straight over into Canal Street and on under the dual carriageway ring road. At the next junction turn left, past Telford's Warehouse on the right, and over the canal. The road then divides. Take the right-hand option, South View Road. At the T-junction at the end of South View Road turn right. You are now in Sealand Road. Carry along Sealand Road for half a mile or so until you see Bumper’s Lane on your left. Around half a mile down Bumper’s Lane you'll reach the stadium.

If you want to go by public transport then take the Railink bus to the bus exchange and then the No. 10 which runs along Sealand Road.

Inside the Stadium:

Away fans are normally housed in part of the Centurion Community Stand on one side of the pitch. For clubs with a larger following, the Swansway Chester Stand at one end of the stadium can also be allocated. This former covered terrace is now all seated having a capacity of 400.

Food on offer inside the ground includes a range of Holland's Pies (peppered steak, meat and potato, cheese and onion), Rollover burgers and hot dogs.

Where to drink/eat:

The Social Club at the ground has a capacity of only 120 people so it is unlikely to accommodate a large following.

There are not many drinking outlets near to the ground so it may be advisable to drink in Chester City Centre before the match, although this is a good 20-minute walk from the ground.

The Megabowl near the ground has a bar.

Near to the train station down by the canal is the Old Harkers Arms 1 Russell Street CH3 5AL which serves good food and ale but is said to be upmarket and expensive.

The Deva Tap 121 Brook St, CH1 3DU is a five-minute walk from the train station. It serves craft beer and food and has an outdoor seating area, with heaters for chilly evenings.

The Pied Bull 57 Northgate Street CH1 2HQ, an 11th century oldest coaching inn and home to the only micro-brewery within the city walls, serves guest beers from the local area and all over the UK, together with traditional British fayre and speciality dishes.

The Brewhouse & Kitchen Love Street CH1 1QY serves award-winning craft beers, quality guest beers, ciders, wines, spirits and pub food classics.  Burger & Pint £10.95 – offer runs every Mon-Wed – valid on Double Cheese, Buttermilk Chicken or Plant Burger with a pint of freshly brewed B&K craft beer.

The Bear & Billet 94 Lower Bridge Street CH1 1RU is a traditional English inn dating to 1664, serving real ales, home-cooked food and live sports.

The Brewery Tap 52-54 Lower Bridge St, CH1 1RU, a converted old Jacobean hall, serves beers from Chester's own brewery, local guest ales and traditional ciders, plus seasonal dishes.

Watergates Bar 1 Watergate Street CH1 2LE is an atmospheric, crypt-like spot with exposed-brick vaults and roof terrace, serving cask ales and pub food.

Ye Old Custom House, Watergate Street CH1 2LB is a 17th-century pub with some original features serving traditional pub grub and hand-pulled beers.

Telford’s Warehouse Tower Wharf, Raymond St, CH1 4EZ is a canal-side bar and restaurant hosting live music and arts venue, serving real ales plus pub grub.

The Goat & Munch at 52 Garden Lane CH1 4EW is a micro-pub situated in a former electrical appliance repair shop. The bar is made of old pallets and serves four real ales plus a real cider.

The Cellar at 19-21 City Road, CH1 3AE, which is at street level, serves six changing ales and three real ciders, with food limited to snacks, pies, paninis, Scotch eggs etc.

The Music Hall Tap 2-3 Music Hall Passage, CH1 2EU is a stylish yet rustic pub with live sport and music.

The Shropshire Arms 45 Northgate Street CH1 2HQ, in Exchange Square, and the Old Queen’s Head 97 Foregate Street, CH1 1HE are Craft Union pubs.

At 78-92 Foregate Street CH1 1HB, there is a Wetherspoon pub called the Square Bottle.

If I've watched us play a game against a team in a stadium past or present it counts. If you paid me to go I wouldn't bother. Chester will fancy the return after the last 20 minutes today.

The last 45 minutes they bossed us. Straight from the kick off 2nd half we sat back. Absolutely no desire to press home our 1-0 advantage.

Got no idea if those pubs are any good but probably a better night than watching the match!

Probably due to the little herberts on the car park yesterday

it is defo worse since the lockdowns. all across europe from what l can see.

yano what would stop it? a dedicated area at each club where it could happen safely. 80% of these utes would not be interested under such circumstances.

obviously wildly impossible, but still true.

They weren't at it again were they? What is up with people.

it feels to me like a distinct underinvestment in preventing it or a deliberate campaign to let it happen, film people and then ban them.

genuinely feels like it is a couple of steps away from being out of control.

l am aware of the echo chamber effect, but lve joined a few FB groups in the interests of research.

it is massive all across europe. lno its always been there and we are nowhere near the 80's, but this feels different.

my only attempt at reasoning is misplaced revolutionary sentiment. similar to how covid became a conspiracy when there are actual real conspiracies being overlooked.
