  1. Another great turnout today by our fans................The official crowd on BBC site was 2275, we reportedly took 1500 and outnumbered them 2 to 1. Was there really only about 750 home fans!!!!!
  2. This was a great opportunity to progress in the cup and could have been a boost to our league form. There is no better way to boost local interest than to have a good FA cup run and once again we've blown our chances.....BIG TIME!!! PD will look silly if we lose at home next week with Furman and Lee in the team. It now seems inevitable that our better players will be made available/sold in the January window!!
  3. This cup competition was our last chance of some much needed revenue and WAS the priority.........I don't understand this leaving Lee and Furman out to save them from suspension business. Players get suspended all the time and we just have to deal with it .......We shot ourselves in the foot today and should have played our best team..........Well gutted!!
  4. Barring injury...I don't think Tounkara deserves to lose his place!!
  5. Just picked this up from the OS. ****************************************** The 22-year-old said: "I went to play games which didn't happen so from that point of view it was disappointing that I was not on the pitch more. "It was still a good experience and I believe I am better for it. "I enjoyed working with Keith Hill and Gary Flitcroft and the coaches were fantastic with me. "Dale have done really well since being promoted and they have a good squad. There is also a togetherness amongst the players and it was good to be part of it." Smalley added that there is considerable competition for places at Dale in his position which restricted his opportunities. ********************************************* With just 3 sub appearances in the month you have to ask the question 'Why did Keith Hill want to take him on loan and why did Smalley agree to go if there wasn't much chance of regular games. He says he wants to get back into the Latics eleven but with Jones, Taylor, Allesandra and even Kirk Millar competing for the wide positions I really can't see it happening! Perhaps a move to Div 2 would be a better bet but even there I don't think he would set the world alight. If he can't get a move in January I reckon he could be heading for non league football at the end of the season!
  6. If you would rather have a backs to the wall Alamo type performance then you're welcome to it......much rather see us having a go than playing for a bore draw. We're not too far away from having a good side and if we can ship out a few in January and get a couple in we won't be far away come May!
  7. Taylor is not a striker....playing in a free roll behind the striker may work well away from home but at BP a regular 4 4 2 please. When Alice and Evina went off for Kelly and Black we were a totally different team. Tounkara's critisism is totally unjustified, he just needs a regular partner up front and someone he can form a partnership with and we'll be fine. I thought we were excellent for the last half hour or so and if we could have sneaked a goal we would have probably gone on to score more! Evina was up against a very quick and tricky winger who will get the better of most fullbacks in this division but his loan has certainly given Black a kick up the backside and he performed a lot better today. I thought Stevens and Furman played much better today, especially in the second half, and they were mixing up the passes to great effect, we look a good side when they're dictating the play and I just wish they could do it for a full 90 minutes. Another poor crowd today considering our free school kids offer, but when I got my ticket this morning from the kiosk just about everybody in front of me were moaning about how sporadically the tickets had been distributed to the schools and the fact they had to make a special trip to the ground just to get cheap tickets. The ticket office is a flamin shambles and I'm not surprised that we never seem to prosper from special offers from the club!!!
  8. Whenever I read your comments I feel like slashing my wrists.....for God's sake are you ever going to post something positive!!!!!
  9. TTA have repeatedly said from day one......" We will not walk away unless the long term future of the club is secure", we will not leave the club in administration and will not sell to anyone who we feel cannot take the club forward. Well, two of these guys have already gone and in the chron tonight Corney says he wouldn't be here now if Dickov's appointment hadn't had the desired effect on the team's displays. Dickov is only on a 1 year deal.....he could be enticed by a bigger club and leave at any time. If that happens and our form dips does that mean Corney will walk!!!! Bucket collections and the trust will not be enough to save us next time and no investors in their right mind would come anywhere near this club in it's present state. This is most definitely a final wake up call...............If we're not either in the championship or in the process of building a new ground in Failsworth by the end of next season then I fear we will be finished as a professional football league club!!!!!
  10. If I remember right it was a free kick into the top left hand corner, I was behind the goal!!
  11. Tounkara is not a waste of space, in fact quite the opposite. It's his first season in league football so give the lad a break, he's creating plenty of chances and goals for others with his unselfish running, with his pace and physique he's a real handful for opposing defenders. He's getting fitter with every match and when, not if, he starts scoring regularly we'll have a real player on our hands.....if Sunderland were to give us the opportunity of signing him and M'voto in January I would snatch their bloody hands off because by the end of the season I think clubs will be queing to sign them!!!
  12. Still doesn't warrant having to queue up at the ticket office though does it....when the stand is full it's full!!!!
  13. Taylor is not a striker and has no idea of where or when he should make his runs...it was a well worked goal but it was on a plate and even Gregan could have put it in!! Get him on the right wing and tell him to cross the ball from the bye-line and you'll see Tounkara score a hat full....we still have wingers that play as midfielders and the supply to the strikers is non exsistant!!!
  14. People have stopped going because the whole experience is crap....it is no longer an enjoyable experience and the only people who go now are the die hards who have almost blind faith. The honeymoon period effect of a new manager has almost evaporated and although the effort and workrate has improved the football thats two home games on the trot where we have been generally pretty poor. I sat next to a retired chap in the RRE today who has been going since year dot, both his sons had been season ticket holders for a good few years and had both stopped attending. The guy said he still goes because he's always gone and it's sort of automatic but the match experience is terrible. All his Saturday mates have long gone since the Lookers was demolished and it seems like your sat with a load of strangers in the RRE. I tried to get a £20 ticket for the main stand today but had to get in a bloody great queue of fans who were buying a ticket for the Rochdale away game...this is typical Latics for you......p*ss up and brewery spring to mind!!! If we can't drag ourselves into the 21st century, and quickly, Im afraid we will be finished as a football club....FACT!!!!!
  15. Thats why I think the idea is non-productive.....Most people know someone with a season ticket so most of the regular pay on the day fans get in for a fiver!! Season ticket holders should ideally be bringing a neighbour or work colleague who doesn't usually go but human nature suggests the £5 ticket will go to a frequent supporter!
  16. Although no shots on target is a bit poo..................The stats say that but I'm a little puzzled......... Richie Jones directed a header straight at the keeper in the first 30 seconds which must surely have been on target........unless the goalkeeper was positioned to one side of the goals!!!!
  17. Can't help thinking Feeney is a player we should have passed on..............the amount of injuries and international call-ups he's having doesn't help the striking positions to develop any sort of continuity and understanding, Tounkare seems to be playing with a different partner every week. Brooke's back in the squad tomorrow and if he can capture his pre-season form it may well keep Feeney on the bench. He's obviously good to have in and around the dressing room but he'll miss 2 more matches for us in October due to callups and I'm begining to think his insistence on being released to play for his country could be why he ended up here instead of one of the championship clubs reported to be chasing him. He reportedly came here for less money but will still be on a good salary. I can't fault his commitment out on the pitch but I reckon it will be November at best before we are likely to see his name on the scoresheet......does anybody else think that in the present climate he's a luxury we can't really afford?
  18. Tonk was by far the best player some great little crosses from the left no big centre orward to nod them in Tonk is our big centre forward and the likes of Taylor should be banging the crosses in for him!
  19. Did you go........a striker won't stop 5 goals going in will it?
  20. They have the best strikers in the division and at 2 0 down did the same to Huddersfield last week. Perhaps we should have closed the game down a little at 2 0 but Dickov will have learned a lot about the team today and I have a feeling we may see Gregan back in defence for the next game. Two more goals from midfield and out of a total of ten so far this season only two have come from the strikers.....we need the strikers to be more of a threat especially Feeney who has a lot of experience playing in a higher division, Tounkare and Kelly are only learning at this level and will gradually get better with games. It's a wide open division and If we can stay in touch with the top 10 I think we will see our best form in the second half of the season.
  21. 15 goals in 11 internationals for Liberia U20's is certainly a good record!!
  22. In order to update the drivers can I obtain the name/type of Graphics card and sound card manufacturers from my computer screen?
  23. A good game spoiled by Bristol's spoiling and timewasting tactics, if the ref had got a grip earlier in the game we would have seen a better result. I thought Tounkara had a good game and he's developing a nice touch, although he could again have had a hatrick at least he's getting in to scoring positions and with more games under his belt we could have a very good player at this level. Kelly played well, he holds the ball up and brings others into play but we need him to be more of a threat, Dickov got into the box more in 15 minutes than Kelly all game. I thought Furman was awesome and MOM by a mile, I really can't believe it's the same player we saw last season!!!! Stephens was a little better today but needs to release the ball quicker and seems to want too many touches of the ball. Both fullbacks were decent and Mvoto is improving with every game. Taylor had a decent game today and when fully fit will be a real handful.......I just wish he'd toughen up as he goes down far too easily. Once we get the likes of Kelly and Tounkara up to full match fitness we will be OK, I just hope we can stay in touch near the top during the next month. The entertainment on offer is so much better than last season and even though we have drawn our last two home games I am satisfied with the improvement we have shown. If Hoskins had played up front for Latics today we would have won the game comfortably!!!!
  24. Thanks for your help, No I haven't as yet....from where do I locate them?
