oldhamandy1
So either we totally off base with this one or the site have site themselves up for a fall when we don't get him

LaticsLen
Looks like Cody McDonald is a good shout. Round of to those who came up with it. So, who's the keeper in the frame? The Richard Wright rumour seems to have died a death. The PFA free transfer list isn't too impressive for our budget either. Shane Higgs maybe? Anybody fancy having Flahavalavahavalavahavan back again? No? OK. Iain Turner ex everton keeper is the rumour.
PlayItLivo
charlton were in for feeney last year.... We were the ones dumb enough to give him the 2 year deal he wanted.

Bristolatic
Iain Turner ex everton keeper is the rumour. Didn't he go on loan at Preston and kept Andy Lonergan out last season?
Wozzer
Lonergan (the dirty b*stard) has gone to Everton to sit on the bench
Bristolatic
Lonergan (the dirty b*stard) has gone to Everton to sit on the bench I hope he gets feckin' splinters in his arse for what he did to Brookey. And in a bloody friendly too. Reason for edit: Brain dead when originally typing Bembo instead of Brooke Edited June 3, 2011 by Bristolatic

OAFCKeepTheFaith
If it is McDonald, reminds me of our apparent offer to Billy Clarke a couple of years ago. Creates a bit of excitement and interest but really the club must know our chances are slim to say the least as every lower league club will be in for him, and maybe even 1 or 2 in the Championship. The club wouldn't put anything on the OS unless it was more or less a done deal though would they...?! kentlats
I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was McDonald, a mate and my brother in law, both ST holders at gillingham absolutely rave about him and hoped the money from Jackson would be spent on buying him! He has massive interest from clubs around the country so doubt he'd be coming to us, I would love to be proved wrong though!
oldhamandy1
It is unlikely to happen today given the time and with being a Friday there is not going to be any news until Monday I'd imgine. 3 days seems at the earliest seems to be a long time to end with line it could happen sooner than you think. oafc-latics
maybe it was put on there because nothing much has been happening. if it is mcdonald, wouldnt other teams up their offer if theyre pretty sure we're after him?
Midsblue
If it is McDonald then I hope we haven't screwed up again by announcing this early. This lad looks superb - pace, control, finishing. Can he be the one to break the curse of Oldham Athletic being the striker's graveyard? We've been crying out for a finisher since Hughes and before him Beckett. Gravy
Crusoe
Or, given the minor fuss about asking the club whether we'd approached Scholes, an ultra-cynical view: we have no chance of signing McDonald, and we know it, but when he signs for someone else a disappointed Dickov can truthfully point out that we did try to sign a proven goalscorer, but it just didn't happen. Look at our ambition, chaps, and keep supporting, even if we actually end up with nobody better come August.
