  1. 1. What would you like the cup money spent on?

    • Stadium - New Stand
    • Stadium - Repairing
    • Extending Existing Contracts
    • Transfer Budget - 2013/14
    • Wage Budget - 2013/14
    • Training Facilities

    • Youth Team
    • Why bother thinking about it, it's already lost on keeping the club going

Three year root and branch plan to turn youth prospects in to first team contracted players worth millions.

Or a ":censored: or bust" promotion effort next season.

Extending Contracts for current team (and keeping hold of them through the next transfer window)

Which ones deserve to be kept?

Which ones deserve to be kept?

Not sure which players have more than 6 months/year left on their contract (apart from Baxter). Croft is a must, he is performing brilliantly now and we should sign him up long term. Would be good to see Grounds, Brown and Bouz get longer contracts. Smith probably deserves a new contract and possibly could use signing Wes and/or Furman up for the long-term too.

I'd say existing contracts of key players, think we have a good nucleus, even though they're under performing in the league, never think it's a great idea having to make wholesale changes at the start of each season, players such as Croft, Furman, Smith, Bouzy need to be kept along with a few others

Increasing the wage budget falls foul of fair play. What we need is to keep key players - Croft, Wes, Furman, Smith, Wes, Tarky & Grounds and Bouzanis or Cisak - it might be possible to offer a lump sum inducement this season. Iwelumo, Barnard and Obita will rightly be gone come end of season. I suspect Byrne, M'voto and Murray will not be overwhelmed with offers and like the idea of Byrne & Murray getting involved on the coaching side as well. Baxter, Taylor and Montano are ours and the younger lads will stay.

This would reduce the number of signings needed in the summer. The question is however will SC play poker again and try to get them all to sign for less rather than trying to act quickly to secure the future. My guess is that he will hold onto the money and we will once again have an untried and untested team for next year.

realistically, how much has this cup run made us? id guess at 1.5mill, but im not the best with things like this

According the Financial Impact of the FA Cup report, Leyton Orient got to a 5th round replay at Arsenal in 10/11 and made £1.4m.

Progression through to the Fifth Round Proper of The FA Cup saw Orient generate over £0.2m in prize money, which accounted for 15% of the total revenues earned from the club’s FA Cup run.

• The club’s success saw them broadcast live on TV four times – three times on ESPN and once on S4C, earning them £0.5m of TV revenue, with the two matches against Arsenal accounting for almost 80% of this total.

The home match against Arsenal attracted an attendance of almost double the club’s average home league attendance for the season. This, together with the replay at the Emirates Stadium, earned the club circa £0.5m in gate receipt revenue, with an additional circa £0.2m in gate revenues generated from the earlier rounds. Total gate receipt revenues of circa £0.7m accounted for 50% of the club’s FA Cup income for 2010/11.

N.B. They got beat 5-0 at Arse.

I think in TV payments/round winnings we have made approx £700k inc. the fee for Everton away.

It was around £700k at close of play v Everton. Add to that around £200-250K after VAT in Replay Gate Receipts, + £116K TV money, we'll have made just over a million. Non too shoddy...

Kiddy £18k Prize Money + About £8k Gate

Donny £27K Prize Money + About 8K Gate

Forest £67.5K Prize Money + About 35K Gate

Liverpool £90k Prize Money + About 45K Gate + £135,850 Broadcast Fee

Everton £40k Gate Money + £233,200 Broadcast Fee

Everton (A) £225K Gate Money £116,600 Broadcast Fee

Prize Money = £202,500

Gate = £361,000

Broadcast Fees - £485,650

Total: £1,049,150 (Conservative estimate on Gate Receipts)
