Tommy_Fent
the rumour has raised its head again according to Radio Manchester on Twitter I'm sure I read somewhere that he was black-listed by the FA Edited June 3, 2013 by Tommy_Fent
Lee Sinnott
Well it worked well at Chester didn't it... :censored: sake...

NewBlue
Would this guy get past a fit and proper test? I doubt it. I also doubt Corney would sell to him; everything he has put into the club in the last 10 years would be rendered useless when that crook took over. SavageTheBeast
Corney will sell if the money's good and if the former Portsmouth owners can pass so can he. Vaughan might not be the owner but a backer so won't have too
ghostofcecere
This what I always fear when people start calling for Mr. Corney to go. He's been a steady hand over the years turning us in to a club turning a small profit from a club of huge losses. Vaughan's arrival might mean we don't have a club in 5 years! SavageTheBeast
Forgot to mention if he keeps Corney on as a director or ambassador then that could tempt him
razza699
ah only just saw this thread started a minute before mine.. His Wiki page has a great 1st line Also think its a none story. Matt Chambers @Matt_Chambers_1m Surprised this has come around again. Was a whisper last year. Stephen Vaughan Snr is banned from holding UK directorship until 2020 #oafc
Forte_Baby
There is loopholes for example he could have friends or family purchase it sure nothing to stop him being employed as a cleaner. He should be banned from anything to do with Football after what he did at Chester. Edited June 3, 2013 by oafctom
SavageTheBeast
Wasn't he getting his brother to buy the club but him be the main backer last time the story came about
Takemeanywhere
I was assured by a director of the club that this would not be allowed to happen. However, I am also aware that Simon Corney has an existing relationship with Mr Vaughan. His son fronts many of his businesses nowadays, so that could be a way around the 'fit and proper person' test. If Vincent Tan can get his hands on Cardiff City, then any bugger can get any club... 24hoursfromtulsehill
This has to be bollocks. The fit and proper person test is a sham, but this would be taking the piss.
pukka
Who carries out this test?
OAFC_Ryan
What I found most worrying is that negotiations have been ongoing for a number of months without any of us having a clue.
ghostofcecere
It's sounding more like a bit of lazy journalism this. It's just a close season re-hash of old news.
Gaz_Oafc
I guess Barry should issue some sort of statement/post on here about this.
singe
SC will go down massively in my estimation if this is true. I would not be suprised if he were in negitiations with someone, and that is fair enough, but this bloke that is something else.
